A faxed master link is kind of like "potential money" in sales. I tried paying my PG&E bill with potential money once. They wouldn't go for it.........

Had a 96 FXDWG myself and sold it, missed the bike so much I eventually bought a 2007 to replace it with I love the late model Evo's...But the Twin Cams once the little things are worked out are good motors.

Today with the weather cooling off and all my rallies and camping trips done on my list I decided to take all the luggage and guards off my RX3 to make it easier to get in and out of the garage between vehicles. Leaving the trunk on for around town use. I doubt I'll be going out of town on it till next spring and wanted to make it more maneuverable and just because I was bored at work and didn't have anything better to do. Trunk looks a little big ,must be over compensating for something ))
I also took the right rear RX3 cover off that covers the muffler mounting bolts and ground clearance so I could get to the muffler mounting bolts w/o having to take the cover off which means taking the rear top rack off also to get to them. rj [URL=http://s248.photobucket.com/user/rjmorel_bucket/media/IMG_0394_zps6zjhafxu.jpg.html][/URL

That's a nice modification for the side cover, RJ. I should have done the same when I removed that cover for my blue paint job.

Tool storage
Having too much time on my hands.....I decided to make use of the wasted space behind the left aluminum pannier. I already had a PVC equipment owners manual tube laying around the shop so that became the new tool holder.
Messing with some scrap aluminum gave me this mount: which mounts to the hard bag rack from the rear: Of course, after I took the photos I found that the tube had to be moved about 1/4" inboard to clear the upper bag mounting bar. That just resulted in having to drill and tap one hole but I was too lazy to take a photo of the new hole. Everything works now and I can carry my tool roll outside the bags. Peter Y. Yes it turns a 20 min job taking everything off to get to 2 muffler bolts into a 15 second job on the road. I hate it when beauty trumps function. (oops was that a political statement). Wish valve adjusting were so easy. rj

D, that nearly happened to me.
That's really soft metal. Luckily I ordered a replacement before total failure. Now I put anti seize on the threads before I screw it back in. Hope you can successfully remove the remaining piece. jb

From the looks of the above pic it looks like the plug hex hole is tapered and the allen wrench tool is not able to go clear to the bottom of the hex hole. So it can't get a good 100% bite on the plug. Maybe go to a pawn shop and by the correct size allen wrench for .50 cents and grind a bit of taper and radius the end so it can sit down all the way into the plug hex hole ????? rj
