Skid plate for the ATV because it wasn't there. $15
I spent an hour trying to figure out how to get the skid plate off before I realized it was missing. Also going to get a couple new bonded washers from the hydraulic shop because of a previous ham fisted mechanic.

I had to buy a new lawnmower because I finally killed the old Murray two blade riding mower that's been running ok-ish for the past 20 years. I had to pull the entire wiring harness off the old mower and just wire the ignition switch right to the magneto and wire a voltage regulator into the stator to keep the battery charged. No more safeties, no more lights, nothing. On the one hand, it's OSHA's worst nightmare, but on the other hand, I didn't have to replace the battery every year, either. But some tall wet grass did it in today, and the spindles and idlers on the deck decided they'd had enough. So, for your visual enjoyment, a 52" Ariens Edge Zero Turn with a 25HP Kawasaki V-Twin engine. The sad reality is it's just one more thing in the shop I need to find a home for...

I even ripped the transaxle out of it tugging a log up our back hill and the engine never missed a beat. Built some new brackets, remounted the tranaxle. Still runs great to this day.

Green chile!
I made trip to Pueblo CO and brought back 4 bushels of 3 varieties of green chile. Awesome flavor, medium hot to hot. Here is a video of my roaster in action. I replaced the drive system with a variable speed servo last Winter to get it ready. The roaster is working on a batch of hot Pueblo chile. Keep in mind that the word Hatch is a copyrighted term now. The big jim is awesome meaty big chile (medium), good for huge rellenos!
No picture of the third variety, which will remain anonymous (Hot, rhymes with match). Here is a video from this morning. The aroma of roasting chile is heavenly, makes me hungry The photo in the bags is leftover after putting down many, many freezer bags, ready to thaw for the next 12 months. Yum! 2023Chile1.JPG Roasting.JPG

Anything past the shed is weed whacker territory. Possibly ankle breaking territory, too. I walked out on those rocks 11 years ago and thought nothing about it. When I took that pic, I was treading lightly with trepidation. Old people problems.

I bought new rear tires for both my Ninja and Lifan 200. Already have new fronts. Correct tire sizes for the Ninja abound in many manufacturers. Correct tire sizes for the Lifan are not available in the U. S. and shipping from overseas is $40-$50.
Front tires last me 12,000 miles..ish. Rears last 6,000 miles...ish. And I've tried my best to wear them to the edges but still can't get more miles out of them. |

Buncha stuff today. Spare tire cover, surge protector, and 3/4" socket with a 1/4" hex stem for the trailer. Planning on some use next week. The lowlife that snagged my tools a couple weeks ago didn't give me back my special 3/4" socket.
A whack of dremel wire brushes to get the burned on crap off the Ural engine. And a few Ural engine tools from flea bay. Still haven't ordered the engine parts, though.

Picked up a new to me 2020 Ram 1500 4x4 Big Horn addition on friday. only had 41,000 miles on it and got it cheap. It sat on the lot for three months and couldn't sell it. When i stopped to look at it, there was a bunch of black spots all over the truck like someone did a bad touch up job. It turned out to be tree sap. I said nothing and started wheeling and dealing. I ended up getting $1000 over trade in for my old truck and stole this one. lol
I spent most of Saturday morning removing the tree sap which came off fairly easy. Looks brand new now.
