I haven’t been paying a heck of a lot of attention to what’s been going on in Beaufort. Plan on staying away from there as much as possible. I did get a gossip report, though. Someone blinked and Jasons’ resignation was withdrawn. Not sure how I feel about that one. The machine made it to Delaware with about 48 hours to spare. The Fat One is waddling around with his chest puffed out like he’s a hero.
The Gimp and the Saggy One initiated a policy that if one has sustained a non work related injury that causes one to miss thirty days of work, it’s an automatic dismissal. They did that to fire one guy, which they did. Not a lawyer, but as the policy went into affect AFTER his injury, I’d think he’d have grounds for a lawsuit. Then again, it is SC. I also got wind of a couple of office affairs happening between parties that make me cringe.
The French team felt that they should go after the sales staff for the poor numbers instead of the management staff who are responsible for making things happen after the sales. A $140,000 order went up in smoke because we didn’t make the delivery deadline. The deadline wasn’t met because we didn’t have the parts to build the stuff. You can’t make this stuff up.

On the plus side, I have gotten a couple of job offers from customers that I am considering.

I hope Jason got something extra for withdrawing his resignation.

Kind of what I’m thinking. Past policy, though, has been that once a resignation has been tendered, you are shown the door that same day. But, not the same company anymore.

So far, the job offers I’ve gotten, though appreciated, would constitute larger cuts in pay and benefits than I’ve already experienced.

Odds are they're not going to get better, only worse, where you are. Just sayin'....

SHTF this week. Frenchies showed up unannounced Tuesday. Long meetings Wednesday and today. Glad I’m working afield this week. So far I haven’t gotten anything out of my contacts (read, spies). Hope to have gossip tonight or tomorrow.

Still have no gossip. Strange, because texts and emails are usually flying fast and furious after hours and I haven’t heard squat.

Some news, of sorts.
The newest sales guy got canned. Kind of PO’d about that one. I’ve known him since he was in high school. Kind of a screwball then but joined the Marines and got his act together. Got a DUI several years ago and that was the grounds for letting him go after a year. He may smell like roses, though. Although he didn’t bring it up in his interview, no asked and no background check was done. May see him back in the future.

The French are finally doing something, whether it will fix anything remains to be seen. The Grand Poobah of HR is flying in tomorrow and having one on one meetings with EVERYONE until Friday. From him, the agenda is we speak freely and he takes notes. He’s going to be sick of his phone because he wants each meeting to be 45 minutes long and eight of us, including myself, are in the field this week.

We shall see.

Not a lot. Keeping my head down as much as my mouth allows. Rumblings on the horizon, though, that have promise. When I know...
