Here's what I've been spending my money on for the last week. I'm not finished yet. I still have to do the gable and storm door and steps but I'm getting closer!

Today I bought 2 more things...

Firstly... I found a bigger Bosch oil filter while at Menards today... and come to find out... it will fit the Metro... this big ol 3500 filter (safely) bumps the engine oil capacity up to ~5 quarts of oil (up from 3.8 quarts!)

I feel like the I'm in that ol crocodile hunter movie... "That's not a filter... now this! This is a filter!!!"

Second thing I bought was after my new ECU showed up... so I install the ECU in the car (320,000+ mile vehicle)... and I start the car... it fired right up and and no longer wanted to have a racing idle of 4,000 to 4,500 RPMs... now it was down to much more respectable 1,000 to 1,200 RPMs... but was still bouncing up and down between the numbers... idle was much better not being up over 4,000+, but it's still not doing what it's supposed to... and here I am needing a DSM fix baaaaad (DSM = Diamond-Star Motors, for some reason I love my first and second generation "Eclipse" cars)

So I pull out my trusty multi meter and back-probe kit and get to testing all those sensors related to the Fuel/Ignition system... I finally get up to the Throttle Position Sensor and BINGO!!! I may have found the problem...

According to my factory service repair manual the TPS should read at 3.50 with no throttle and 6.50 at full throttle when testing pins 2 and 3... the readings it was giving me = no throttle it was reading 1.43 and at full throttle it is only reading 4.27...

So I have on order... a brand new Airtex Wells Throttle Position Sensor to get one of my favorite cars back on the road, hopefully this TPS will last another 300,000+ miles of abuse

Thanks guys! It's been a lot of work but it's long overdue and I still have a long way to go. Still have the other 3 sides of the house to put new siding and windows.

Looks great! I like the finials on the posts. Attractive and keeps the water out of them. I went the cheap (China Riders) route and ran the top rails over them. Works but not near as attractive.

We've been working on our place for almost 5 years. It's never ending........ Also seems like since we started this project, wood has turned from wood....to gold. Man, it's gotten really expensive.

A dethatcher, three foot of 2x2x1/8 angle iron, a box of K-cups, and a small bag of nuts and bolts from Farm and Fleet. Hauled it all home in the sidecar.
