The XL was the street legal version. In later years, it was referred to as an XR with an L, like XR250L. The dirt version was eventually labelled as XR250R.

Oh so that bike there could possibly be made street legal? I'm just suprised at how good of shape it is in, I really don't need another street bike, or another bike period for that matter.
