It should, I bought the kit from the same seller that you linked.

sure I am. And If you're not planning on using the hoses, I could use one to connect the two together. I like the hoses to match.

You can have them all and make them into a sculpture if you want. I have plans for mostly stainless hard lines and AN fittings, with only a small section of flex hose at the inlet and outlet and oil filter. I have all of the tools to do it, so I might as well. Even if I don't do hard lines, I want to make proper length hoses to get as clean of an install as I can.

Well I sure hope so. Given the money I spent on my Goldwing, I may have to hold off on hard lines and use some AN hose I have laying around with some barb fittings and hose end clamps. I should have everything but the 10mm banjo with a 1/4 hose barb I need for the motor side in my box of many fittings and hoses. I have about 7ft of AN -4 braided hose laying about with a couple feet of AN -6.

Not the most fancy solution, but with the hose end clamps it should look a little bit cleaner than regular ol' clamps.

Right now I am just brain storming my bracketry to mount both coolers up. I might combine your angle iron idea, and use it on both sides, with one of the U-clamps for the oil coolers with a cross brace to clamp it to the down tube for 3 points of contact.

Well, it's been a static world with my Hawk. I got home tonight and found a small Christmas of packages.

2 months later, almost to the day, my new front wheel is here. I am debating on mounting it now, or just waiting until I spring for the Tubliss setup for the front and rear.

I also got in my new Mosfet Reg/Rec for a little upgrade. Preparation for a lithium battery this spring.

I also have some new adjustable levers/MC on the way along with a quarter turn throttle. Both of which are your generic "insert brand name here" variety. Links
Throttle: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Clutch and Brake levers: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The only other thing I am thinking of upgrading is the mirrors. They got pretty beat up on the last crash and fall.

The VM30 won't be going on until the ported head is installed. I do have to admit I am tempted to see if I can get it working and tuned on a stock Hawk though.

One thing I do want to do with this carb before installing it is installing a Thunder Products UFO (Ultimate flow optimizer). Link: https://thunderproducts.com/product/...low-optimizer/

I have used them before on a CB500, and they make a noticeable difference in performance. Their power claims are very accurate, but more than that the throttle response and powerband across the board is much much stronger

I also have to admit that I am tempted to try out their dial a jet kit, but I think I will stick to one thing at a time.

The real challenge will be trying to figure out a jet setup for this carb on this engine. I am trying to find a good analog to get a rough estimate from, but it isn't proving very easy.

I do the mosfet R/R on all my bikes that have a basic shunt style R/R. They work really well to clean up the charge. On most of my bikes I get just a bit more charging out of them.

I do the same thing with my bikes for the same reason. Eliminating the sense circuit and connecting directly to the battery makes a big difference on older systems, which includes the design this bike's charging system has. It bumps the charge voltage enough to be able to run a Lithium battery.

I also wanted a better reg/rec in place so I can get the most out of upgrading the Stator when I get around to it. I would like a bit more charge output to be able to run heated grips or other accessories without taxing the charging system.

Finally have a chance to do a little work to my Hawk. Besides installing the skid plate and center stand, I got the oil cooler block installed on the engine. I just need to get the cooler brackets made up and all the lines run. Hopefully I can get something worked up next weekend.

Ignore the cluttered mess of the garage. Spring cleaning got started and my garage got nominated as a dumping ground...

Also got my new mirrors and levers installed. I did try to install my new throttle, but discovered that the factory cable sheath length is too long for it, and that the throttle itself is made out of a very thin and weak aluminum as it cracked while tightening it down on the handlebar. It wasn't even that tight or close to being seated all the way when this happened. I am going to go back to a factory style throttle setup once it arrives.

The new controls installed without a problem.

I have to measure the main ground strap so I can order some 6awg cable to upgrade the battery cables. This will be a part of my reg/rec upgrade and lithium battery. The battery is a Battery Tender BTL14A240C https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

A bit overkill, and pricey, but a lot like my Goldwing (which has a 500cca lithium battery) the extra power and capacity goes a long way on a bike with a barely adequate charging system. Plus the extra terminals allow for adding additional accessories without a huge mess of connections.

Do you intend to use a Yamaha reg/rec?

It is the same model used on Yamaha's, and many other bikes yes.

I took a day off from work as a B-day present to me. Spending that time re-organizing my garage space a little and working on my Hawk to get it back on the road.

Basically working back to front on it. Finally got around to finishing my 520 chain setup. In case you are curious, this is how a 13 tooth 520 sprocket and a 17 tooth 428 sprocket compare in size - pretty much the same diameter.

Anyway, Took the swing arm and shock off, cleaned and re-greased everything, did all of my spoke checks, checked over the wiring. Installed my new Battery Tender brand lithium battery - stock size replacement with 240cca. Finished upgrading the reg/rec after having to make a little adapter bracket for it to fit the new bolt pattern.

Also upgraded the main ground wire. Think I went big enough?

It's not super huge really, just 6ga. with 5/16" lugs. 1ft long. The bolt for it that goes into the block was corroded pretty bad, so I replaced it with a stainless steel bolt with a little coat of anti-seize on the threads.

Went through and cleaned up the carb and put new fuel line on, got my new throttle housing installed, adjusted the clutch for the new levers, bled the front brakes with the new master, bled the rear just because I had fluid left. It gave me an excuse to use my new vacuum bleeder, which was pretty awesome.

Tomorrow I am going to adjust the valves, add fresh oil, service the forks, swap on my new front wheel, and put all the body panels back on.

I decided to hold off on installing the oil cooler for now. With my VFR now needing to be taken apart to fix the leaky fork and do a few upgrades, the Hawk is getting back seated to daily rider duty. Once the VFR is back on the road I am going to take the Hawk back down to do a few upgrades, including the head if I can get it in for a little dyno time before that point.
