I've been thinking about the pre-load thing since I posted this on MCM;
http://www.mychinamoto.com/forums/sh...ight=david3921 If you look at the middle picture of post #4 you can see the pipes that are under the cap. These are under tension and need to be pushed down to remove the retaining clips (post #3). I would think that some PVC tubing of the same diameter could be installed between the end of the pipe and the retaining clip to increase pre-load. They could be made in 1" increments to test out. They are very easy to replace...if done one fork at a time as mentioned above. |

Ok I took the top caps off and directly under it is a long skinny hollow metal pipe.I measured it at 1" and bought some pcv pipe ( they told me it is shed 40 pipe ) .
The sales guy was like" won't it just shatter??" but hey he's a plumer..LOL Ok so I just need to cut 1"spacer and place it under the cap between the metal tube and the cap OR should I measure the metal tube and make the pvc pipe one inch longer and put that it ( removing the metal tube) ?? |

Keep it simple and just add a 1 inch piece. I would would just cut a longer piece to try if I wanted more than a inch.
Are you changing the oil? |

I want to change the oil weight also but first I am looking for some instructions on the process and what the factory oil amount is.

No real answer there. Best bet is drain what is in there and measure the amount.
