Folks,
I am going to order this bike, be the guinea pig. The dealer doesn't have much of a reputation. I just pray the licensing and registration will go smoothly.

In the lower Americas, this bike is called Wolken 400 and Rascal 400 Adventure. There are a few videos of 'em on Youtube.

Hey Snake, Have you talked to them? Do they have the bikes in stock? And what about the sales tax issue?

Keep us posted on the progress!

They are not far from you. perhaps you can have them title it and assemble instead of shipping?

They said 8% is for off-road bikes only; they won't charge me that since this is a street-legal bike. They also said it would take 7 days to ship; I assume this means they have it in stock.

I much rather they ship me the bike while still in the crate. I much rather put it together myself and know for sure it's done right.

Registration in Texas is not hard, but since I'm probably the first person in the state to register this, I do have a some apprehension. If I do run into problem, I think I'll put a hold-on-payment on the credit card until the dealer help me resolve any issue. I think withholding payment is a good motivator in case they like to not return phone calls or emails. But so far, they have been very prompt about it.

The registration shouldn't be too difficult as it is DOT legal for 50 states (California probably does not recognize the DOT, so at least 49 states...)

Since you said there are videos of these bikes on youtube, ask the posters about the engines. In the grand scheme of things, I don't think the $2400 will be a loss; in fact, I think that it will be well worth the price.

So what color are you expecting?

Looks to be abit quieter than a HiBird. Hope it does well in that department as well.

The last video you posted goes up to part 6. The second video you posted seems to show the bike running quite smoothly down that river highway, with no problems getting to, and staying at, speed. The bike seems very refined for a Chinese bike and one costing $2400 including shipping. I think the Xingyues will become quite popular around here, especially as they offer the bike in 4 "flavors." People last year were writing how they wished the Chinese would have bikes with bigger engines, remaining low-cost, and this seems to be the solution. We are all counting on you for daily reports, video, and photos--you are buying this bike for all of us, Dragon!!

Exactly!
I hope the purchase is smooth, quick and easy so you can give us all a real hands-on review.
Plus hundreds of pictures! :P

Re: The video by the river
I was trying to determine the speed by looking at the speedo. The needle was basically straight up 12 o'clock most of the time. It may have made it over to 1, 2 at the very most. The problem is, I didn't see a good enough shot of the speedo (after I watched that video) to see where that lines up...and I assume that speedo in the video is kph.
Anyone have any thoughts on this? Was I the only one trying to figure this out?

Bad news. Olson said the price on the website is wrong. The right price is one grand more than that. I'll be getting a refund. I don't want to spend that much money without seeing it first. Too bad.
