I mentioned I would report back on the phone holder Megadan suggested. I received it last week and tried it out last Monday evening. I would not recommend it. The money motion of the bracket will not stay where you set it after wind and road vibration. The bracket system is longer than it needs to be making it difficult to position the phone where you would like it.
I wanted to check my mph gauge on the dash against the phone GPS speed. I was able to accomplish that. My gauge reads consistent 2 mph faster than phone GPS. I'm confident my bike's gauge is reading in mph. The gauge is 2 mph faster at 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 & 45 mph. This is close enough for me. I might go faster than 45 mph some day but, gotta remember I assembled this thing myself with bubble gum and bailing wire.

The one I gave you a link to will not budge once set. The only issue i had found with it was that you can't use it with a case. No big deal. The phone will not come out.

I installed one of these on my TT250. I'm impressed with it. I ran through some rough terrain and my iPhone didn't move at all.

I used an old phone and gps app for measurement of my TBR7 speedo,

and after a couple trips just like Nospark, stock speedo registers roughly 2-3mph over.
This is somewhat normal for vehicles, about 1-2 over.

How did I secure phone? 2in clear packaging tape hahaha.
This is just for temporary use.
I do not plan on using phone mount

I plan to now see/calibrate the odometer and see what happens.
Not that big of a deal for me, but just general idea would be good.

I suppose doing this once a season, I should know how accurate the speedo is.

I have seen some comments that using a handlebar mount for your phone can damage the camera system due to the vibrations or shock. I guess that might depend on how rough you ride. Myself I don't mount my good phone on the bike and keep it in my jacket. I also attach a small tether to the phone mount tied to the handlebars just in case the bar mount attachment fails for some reason.

Well, that's kind of a bummer. Think it could be modified at all? I like the idea of having a small pouch like that, even if not for phone use.
