Makes perfect sense. My Sorrento was throwing codes for a long time for about a year with this new battery I purchased, yet it was showing full voltage. Replaced with another new battery and all was well. Software acts spooky when not happy with its power, this is from what I've experienced in the field too.

I'm wondering if having the trailer lights wire wrapped around the rear bumper had anything to do with it rusting like it did. Sort of an electrolysis thing going on.
