Thanks man! I'll order that up in a week or so and get to hacking. After that I plan on doing the same to my rebel 250 with shorties. I'll make a day of it. haha

Looks like they'll be about 20mm shorter than the LV cans and I won't need to do any mods to the exhaust tubing. I would order a pair but my next big ticket purchase will be a set Pirelli Diablo tires for the little monster.

I am also thinking of changing the tires eventually.
I am actually looking for better rim options. I hear they can make a big difference in riding performance. |

Did you keep the cat or gut it? Might make a huge difference if you gut it and re-weld it.

Reducing unsprung weight can make a big difference in handling, but aftermarket wheels are expensive, especially magnesium alloy rims. As for the tires, I've been known to ride them down to the belts, but the tires on the monster are the worst I have ever had on a bike. I always mount my own tires and I've NEVER had issue with tire balance until now. The front tire on the monster REALLY REALLY sux. I've cruised the twistest road in Bama 3 times this week and I can't push it in the corners because of the tires.

I have not cut the catalytic. Not sure I want to undertake that. For now, I'm just enjoying the bike for what it's worth. It definitely attracts a lot of attention, especially at night being all lit up.

Yeah, one step at a time. probably will wait until next season to change the tires. And then I'll consider the rims the following season. haha.

I hear ya, I was going to cut mine and gut it till I saw the CRF 50 exhaust. Just a pipe and maann it makes a huge difference without the cat cause the cat is so restrictive.
