Thanks for posting the photos; your bike looks great. We love to see these bikes come out of the shipping crate.

So I did some high way riding for about 13 miles. And P.S. I have never rode on any powered bike of any kind; so I have zero experience. Overall the bike wasn't too hard to assemble. Had a couple issues 1) the exhaust plastic had to be modified a little(but I work at a cabinet shop and I assembled it there so I had plenty of tools on hand), 2) the front axle nut was completely missing, so I had to go to O'reilly Auto Parts and get a nut[btw is a 12mm with 1.25 threading(extra fine)]. Other than that the bike was simple enough to assemble. On the road the bike handles pretty good, though I do recommend some tires that aren't quite so knobby for a smoother ride. Top speed on the bike was around 55-60 depending on whether you're going up a hill or down. LOL But I'm not a little guy at 6ft 250lbs. The bike is definitely meant for some one of some stature thats for sure. I really have to hike my leg up to get it over. So if you are any shorter than I am get a bike with the 18 and 17 inch tires. Great bike though. No major issues. Motobuys has been great so far. The Certificate of Origins came with my bike and I called Motobuys and they told me to mail it to them and they will fill it out and mail it back. So hopefully I will get it back quickly. Thanks for all you guys on here who have helped me out and given your input and advice. I will definitely come here first with any questions. Thanks.

Excellent! How did it look out of the box? Fit, finish, metals, plastics, decals? Any blemishes, scratches, rust etc? What was the process of getting it started for the first time, any issues with getting it running? Looks great in your photos.

There was a small scratch on the rear of the bike and the reflector on the right side front fork was cracked. Not a big deal, its not really even noticeable. I will say when I first started it I forgot to check the choke and it was wide open, so it kept dying on me. The choked is kinda in a hard place to get to once your on the bike. Other than a few small little things the bike was in great shape. There are a few things that you may need to fit custom, which really is to be expected from a $1300 Chinese bike, everything went together easily.
There wasn't any rust. The exhaust smoked quite a bit burning off the paint from it heating up. I ran it with the oil that was in it so I still need to change it. It came with the spark plug in it, oil in it, and brake fluid.

Yes, I had the same issue. I already had the exhaust plastic installed, so I just trimmed the inner tab protrusion off the inside of the upper panel with a razor knife, rather than making a recess in the exhaust panel. Since one panel mounts to the frame, and the other to the exhaust it is obvious that the chance of lining up is slim.

Looks good! I just emailed them for a shipping price to the big island of Hawaii near Hilo. I would guess $400.00?? They exclude Alaska and Hawaii from the free shipping. I think I would order black, as then If I want to, I could remove the side wings from the tank area. I'm kind of an old fashioned traditionalist about motorcycles.

The metal black tank has fittings to mount the plastics, I'm not certain you will like the look of the tank naked w/out the plastics, I didn't. It is not really a basic black tank, but rather made, shaped and fitted to accept the plastics.

The black plastic tank on my Lifan also has nuts embedded in it to accept plastic. I just filled the nuts with short stainless button head screws and stainless washers. Works for me.

I agree Weld, that plastic Lifan tank is attractive without the plastics. The Hawks metal tank not so much IMO, the fasteners are much more obtrusive, there is also a metal clip of sorts. The shaping of the metal Hawk tank is formed to the plastics, and without it seems odd and homely to me...just one Chinarider's opinion, for whatever that's worth....nuttin

I like the tip on stuffing the holes with attractive fasteners, then they appear to serve a purpose...

I'm more about function than form anyway. If something doesn't make it go faster, stop faster or increase safety, I'm probably gonna ditch it.

Finally got my MCO back from motobuys. I've been excitedly waiting for the last 30 days. So my bike is now finally road legal. No issues with the DMV accepting the paperwork. Now I am ready to hit the road.
