I'm gonna go with the 4 LEDs and try to fix up the wiring. Will any flasher do the trick to get them working properly? Also, the screws for the stock tail light are set wider than the "universal" tail light I purchased. Any leads on where I can get a good one for the Zong? Otherwise I may have to hook it up above the license plate. From what I can see, the flasher installation seems pretty simple. I'll try to check some videos for help.
If you want to use four, LED turn signals you will need an LED flasher. You might be able to find one at you local, auto parts store. Make sure it has 'LED' printed on the flasher itself. However, some of these automotive LED flasher won't work, because they have an 'extinguished bulb' feature built into them. The following flashers are guaranteed to work.

I installed a DRC Edge 2 Tail Light on my Zong.

some auto parts stores have a small mc section and sell mc suitable LED flashers, given that it is popular to do that conversion. they are clearly marked as being suited for motorcycles.
i wouldn t muck around with car flashers :-)

I seem to be causing more trouble than I had originally. I've got what I need but I had to do some trial/error with the wiring because the colors are off. The bike has green w/ yellow stripe, green and brown; my new light has brown black and red. While messing with it a couple wires touched and now the bike only kick starts and no lights work at all until the bike is running. I can't find the fuse supply. Please help.

The wires you describe are going to the tail light. The brown wire feeds 12V DC to keep the tail light illuminated whenever the ignition key is turn on. The green/yellow wire activates the brake light when either brake switch is activated. The green wire is grounded to the bike's frame.

If your brake light only has two wires, it doesn't have a tail light. If this is the case, the red wire is probably positive, and the black wire is ground. Hook your tail light up to a battery to confirm this wiring.

You probably shorted the tail light wires, and blew the bike's fuse. The fuse is located on the right side of the bike, inside a hinged, white container which is located above the CDI unit.
