That post made me a bit nervous, having to bend the pipe. won't that change the flow of the exhaust and change the way it works? I'm always up for a challenge, and would like to have this on my bike.

What size would be good for my bike as well? i've found on the net they are marketed by either measurements ie "1-1/8" or by engine size ie "200-500" i'm looking ot get one off ebay to save a few bucks.

2lz- what hondaoid do you have and did you run into the same issue with the mid pipe?

The Q4 made a very large difference. That's why I'm paying for one on the KLX also.

My hearing is worth it.

On the trail the louder pipes may be OK. It all depends on the engine load and RPM's, and the motor itself. Airbox design matters a lot too.

My CB175 has a quiet and smooth exhaust but a loud induction system at hig manifold pressures. Go figure.
When properly packed, the FMF TC2 meets the U.S. Forest Service sound level requirements; the FMF Powercore muffler does not. Proper muffler packing makes a big difference. Also, one should note the FMF TC2 comes with 2-stroke packing installed. This packing is not designed to withstand the heat of 4-stroke engines. Therefore, the initial packing in the FMF TC2 will deteriorate more quickly, becoming louder in the process.

The silencer packing material I recommended earlier is inexpensive, and will pack the FMF TC2 four times. This packing material is easy to use, and does a superb job with noise suppression; it is also very durable. Repacking the FMF TC2 is a very easy, and inexpensive job; I highly recommend it.

Measure the outside diameter of your exhaust header, and you will know the correct size silencer to purchase. I purchased the 1-1/4 inch silencer for my Zong.

Here's a good price on the FMF silencer from a good vendor.

That's great! Please do start a new thread regarding your installation of this muffler.

WHOOPS! Sorry! Didn't see this!

I have the same basic Hondanoid that you have...and yes, mine was a super hassle BUT....so far, out of all the folks here who had to install one, I seem to be the only one who had to go through all the heating and bending on the mid-pipe.
A lot of these Hondanoids are "build them with what you have in the warehouse" though.....so yours may bolt right on like others here.
Good luck!

no luck with mounting it myself, the pipe doesn't line up at all, i dont want to make a bigger job. I want it done right so im taking it down to a shop that was recommended to me from another muffler shop. The guy said he could make a pipe for me and mount it for around 60 bucks.

That's a good deal. Please keep us updated.

The FMF silencer is a bargain at less than $110, delivered. Even with the added price of the custom midpipe, you will still get an excellent muffler at a very good price.

Dropped the bike off and he said the absolute most would be 80 bucks, and I get it back on Friday!!! So not too bad. As soon as he took a look at the bike he knew it was Chinese.

For anyone in the bay area the shop is called pipelyne in San Jose. The guys at the shop used to race scooters and the office is full of 1st place plaques parts.

Ask Weld, he's the expert. Search and you can likely find a post or two. Commonly he recommends a $35 or so Mikuni rather than messing with the PZ.

Glad to hear that. I know the new carb is recommended, I'm gonna hold off I've put alot of money into the bike with this exhaust, unless I find a really good deal, or know for sure my little bro is going to get his permit.
