Jim, I've still got plenty of light gauge square and rectangular steel that needs a good home. So does Luke (and he'd be happy to see it go away). Let us know if you can use it.

I was planning on going to the junkyard tomorrow to search out some light gauge square tubing.

Got the trailer stripped down.

Still planning whats going to happen with it.

This is what I'm planning on keeping so far... Not much. The front will have to be re-attached to the frame holding the axle, and it may get some kind of a bumper to hold the lights and plate.

Not exactly certain yet. A lot of the frame is coming off though.

Looks like a good project and looks like a beautiful sunny day also.

You should be out on the Honda!

I was for a little while... It still needs a little tinkering. I gave up trying to make the old flasher work and put a new one on, so the signals work now. The center stand was rubbing on the chain when there was no weight on the bike and it was in the up position, so we fixed that. A few other things as well, but it doesn't seem like it's charging the battery so we're going to look at that.

Indeed. You're planning to trim a lot off that trailer, Jim. It appears there will be a lot of cutting, as well as welding and grinding.

I'm happy to help Jim, for sure! That said, Jim has access to a better welder than mine, just a few feet from his trailer. I've used it; it's awesome.

It will be a bit before I get much further... The sunfire needs a clutch. I ordered a kit of jcwhitney for $170, so waiting on that. Going to see if I can get rid of some of the oil leaks when we do the clutch, and swap to summer tires, and install the hitch. Then it will be trailer time. Could be a bit.

I'm going to be using my cut off discs I got from Weld

I forgot about that. I just gave a couple to Midlife on Friday. I keep buying them when they're on sale, so now I have more than enough.

Jim, if you're just looking for a light utility trailer, it would be best to get rid of the a-frame and use a single draw bar. It saves weight, and it's easier to back up. You probably have enough steel in the existing trailer to create a draw bar.

I agree. If you want a light trailer, there's no need for the A-frame on the draw bar. I have a light trailer myself, and it employs a single draw bar as Weld describes.
