One of the first things to check is the battery ground, where it attaches to the frame. Just because it looks good does not mean that it is good. Often, there is paint on the frame whwere the battery ground is attached. Paint is a so-so insulator. It will permit a low watt current to come back from the frame, but the paint stops the high wattage pull of the starter motor...ARH

Reconnect or enable the remote and then try to use it to start the bike.
I had an issue where I needed to do this to get it to start with the starter, also.
