I had no idea. I realize that the Elite is liquid cooled, but I thought they had more in common with the GY6.

Totally fair comments about the plastic scoot vs. a classic scoot, but I still want an Elite. That said, I'm planning on a scooter ride next weekend on my buddy's 150 Aprilia Mojito; it has beautiful classic lines.

I think when it comes time for tires I am going for a 100/90-10 on the front and a 110/80-10 on the back. Slightly more rubber on the road.

That will be just a slightly taller tire on both ends. Maybe give a 1mph increase in speed, but shouldn't affect power for hills.

Michelin S1 performance tires.

Looks like the typical scooter tire last about 2-5K miles.

Nice choice (not my choice), but an improvement over stock. I would expect 6-8K out of those tires, not quite being as soft as 2-5K tires, a good "overall" choice.

We are coming up to a critical time in "motorcycling". With fuel prices seemingly set to shoot through the roof the typical motorcycle buyer is going to change. Fuel economy, dependability, and cost of ownership, will be taking center stage.

Yep. I think we will see another round of chinabikes and the value of older bikes go back up.

This may be of help to those wanting to mount their own tires.
