Sounds like you are on the right track with the new harness. The wire colors and connectors will probably match up.

Have you looked at this site to see if they have your quad parts?
Parts4MotorsportsI havnt bought from this site yet but I noticed they keep adding machines to their list of parts. Maybe email them and attach a picture or two of your quad and tell them what you need. Also give them any numbers off the quad and where they came from on the quad. There should be numbers on the engine and the frame. I have seen those quads around for a while now so getting it straightened out shouldn't be to difficult just a little time consuming. |

It sounds like you probably don't have the ignition right then. Check for spark. Also make sure the kill switch is working right. Maybe just disconnect it for testing.

Do you have power to the solenoid? If so then check to see if the start switch is working. If you don't have one get a voltmeter.
See if you have power to the switch too. Allen

maybe you had it but the stator is bad and just needs to be replaced ?
have you found the wire from the stator thats pulses the coil ? It sounds like you can get it to crank over but just not getting the current to drive the ignition circuit. So I would think to start at the source and work thru to the spark plug. Starting at the stator wires find the wire that pulses the the cdi if you dont have that then it wont run as it does the timing for the engine. This might help a little |
