Anybody try to upgrade to one of those MOSFET regulators?

Most common regulators work on the principal of regulating the alternators by controlling the current to the rotor, motor cycles have only the stator so if the output is to be regulated it would have to be done at the rectifiers output. The only regulator I can think of would be a solar panel regulator. I am sure there is something out there that can be used, can you give a reference to this mosfet regulator. There are small chips but are mostly low current devices, perhaps after checking the charging voltage they may not be necessary

What little I know about them suggests they are more electronic and stable in function but they cost much more. Here is reference.

Aka solid state regulator rectifiers. Been on most modern bikes for the last 10 to 15 years.
