To be fair, I'm not oblivious to the fact that they're plastic. I'm not oblivious to the fact that locks themselves are not really secure. I'm aware some dipsh*t kids walking by would easily unzip a soft bag and peek in -- or lift the top of a box if it were open, and maybe throw the sh*t on the ground, just for fun to show off to their little slutbags. THAT is what the locks might stop.
I figured I'd come here to see if anyone had a cool trick of filing down this little piece inside the lock assembly stopped it from holding the key in. As for actual security, Smith and Wesson & Glock do way better than my luggage locking status will ever do.

Only works if you carry your weapon on you. Otherwise, you'll arm a perp in your unlocked house.

LOL, now this is an old thread. Also all my house guns are hidden but easy for us to grab. Who wants to try to carry all the time at home??? There's no crime here anyway.
When this thread was resurrected I was confused, because I've never seen the plastic luggage in person and had no idea they auto-lock. The wife's BMW was like that, and we hated it. Stupid thing to do. Most of the time we're in places where there's no need to lock anything. |

I have only the top box on my TT250 but I can open and close it easily locked or unlocked. If I start it and realize I forgot to put something away I open it up while it's locked. The plastic lid bends enough for it to open.

I have a safe for my valuables, right behind my daughter-in-law's desk at the bank. For replaceable things I have another place I can access 24/7, but most people wouldn't be able to find even if they knew where it was. |

I am so glad we finally got that scumbag sheriff out of here. The amount of our cash that he wasted is astronomical, and he was just a grandstanding media whore (which is why people in other states thought he was a god).
Yesterday I shot some dry lube into the locks on the luggage, huge improvement in usability and smoothness. Recommended. |

I've found several half used bottles of lube for pinewood derby cars, works quite well for lock lube. Also works great for radio control model airplane cables.
