The video is about a Megelli (same engine)
Here's a Facebook post (from the same guy, who is a mechanic)

A quick search in our group:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/5750...lity=available
and I count at least 3 guy with the starter problema on the RX3.

That said, I guess is a bit of bud luck too.
Lots of other folks (included myself) are acumulating kilometers at a very fast rate wthout issues.
There's an old man who went from Chubut to Machu Pichu and back, he tagged around 12.000km with zero problema. With the bike new from the dealer.

Thank you for posting the video, Juanro.

If you go to the 0:27 mark of the first video, you will see the reduction gears of the engine have been changed. Compare the design of the Megilli engine to those of the RX3 engine in the following thread.

http://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=15622

The outer race of the sprag clutch has also been changed. The rollers of the sprag clutch shown in the first post of this thread are obviously defective. Perhaps Zongshen is now getting the sprag clutch parts from a different vendor. In any event, it is apparent Zongshen has been modifying, and improving the NC250 engine.

I haven't heard reports from anyone in the United States complaining of problems with the starter motor. Therefore, I think the problem with the Megilli engine has probably been resolved. However, thanks for warning us. We will certainly watch to see if any future problems develop.

I wonder if the owners with sprag clutch failures have engines with the old clutch parts? I also wonder if these owners were merely unfortunate enough to get a production run of defective parts for the sprag clutch?

Does this problem occur early, or later? I have ridden my Zongshen RX3 over 21,000 kms (13,000 miles) without any problems whatsoever.

I'm not surprised. If you get a defective sprag clutch, it will fail early. If it doesn't fail early, it probably isn't going to fail.

I have ridden my RX3 over 21,000 kms (13,000 miles), so I don't think I am going to have any problems.

Ah yes! A nice tool. There are two kinds sold around here, one for shoe makers and the other for ceramicists who work with mosaics. As usual, made in China and ranging from super cheap to good quality, fair Price
