I built my own egg incubator as well.
After my back injury I looked into alternatives to chickens. AsI had 2 large movable "chicken tractors" but relocating them put fear into my spine at the time. I since modified 1 of them into 2 goat shelters... The other Chicken tractor MK3 will probably get another round of chickens at some point soon. Pretty much every incubator on aliexpress/amazon/ebay mimic those turn/roll based systems. I just upgraded my incubator with an Aliexpress auto egg tilt tray... Enjoying the Quails, much quicker turn over. If you can manage the poop/odor and prevent their messy eating feed waste, they are definitely an asset to anyone wanting to produce food at home and pretty much bypass any permits or legalities regarding other backyard poultry. You could keep them on an apartment balcony quite easily... Would recommend given the current food and supply issue happening globally. Last edited by XLsior; 09-22-2024 at 05:37 PM. |
