thanks for all the info. thelifan gy-5 is winning so far. larger tank, no sprocket change, motor differences are negligible, & from what i gather it may sit a little higher. i think i will do a little more digging & try to get the american lifan. i have been talking to rpm & there is a gy-6 due out this summer, & it looks pretty slick. but i don't think i can wait that long.

Send a message via Yahoo to RPM
I was talking with the sales dept. from American Lifan on this model at the Dealer Expo and it seems that it is a toss up as to when and IF they will be bringing this model into the US market. One guy said it would be coming and when I was talking today with another salesman, it may be dropped for this year.

However, I was informed that there is a bigger and better bike coming later this year. As a bit of a tease, sorry guys ... no pics yet, I am pretty sure it will be bigger than the 250cc bike that everyone has been looking out for!

I want a GY-6 BUT, I'll take a GY 650!!!
Seriously, I like the KTM look. Makes it look pretty mean
We'd probably really catch hell then if we rode around on a KTM look-a-like.

See if you can see this link to the GY-6.

http://www.lifan.com/en//upfiles/200.../LF125GY-6.jpg

I really like it, especially the color. The one thing that I see that I don't like, and other brands new enduro are going to look like this (Shineray and HI-Bird have similar models that look like the GY-6) too that I am slightly annoyed with is the lack of luggage rack. The Chinese enduros are one of the few, if any, models of enduros that come stock with a luggage rack, if I am not mistaken, and the new trend seems to be the elimination of it. But I would like to stress, I really like the overall look of the GY-6 and the other brands that will copy it. (I will try to dig them up.)

Is this Lifan GY-6 going to still have a 200cc engine?

hi....engine specs read the same as the 200/gy-5,.....from the picture, it seems to be the push-rod engine.............

most other specs also seem to be about the same..........
