Spud gets great mileage out of his tires. I suspect he has a better right wrist control than I do.
Both of us ride on hard rocky loose highly abrasive desert type terrain. I ran Avon Gripsters on my XR250L years ago and I liked them. On hard or desert type conditions then did well. In the wet off road they'll put you on your face quickly. 8O

Spud, that is seriously beautiful countryside you have there, I love the pictures! I gotta say too, love the BRP with that new tank, it looks like the tank that Honda should have put on it from the factory!

Here's a photograph of my Christian Brother Andy descending a steep, rocky slope on his Yamaha TT-R225. You can see my Honda XR650L at the bottom of this slope. Andy is more of a kamakaze rider than I. 8O I decided to walk to the top of this particular hill to enjoy the view, rather than ride my Big Red Pig up the steep, nasty slope! Incidentally, Andy dropped his bike after riding to this spot. I don't enjoy picking up my XR650L, so I try to drop it as little as possible! Spud

Beautiful pics, Spud. I wonder how many of us CR's have Spudpics as our computer's wallpaper. :P

I employ the tractor-like torque of the XR650L to crawl up these steep, rocky slopes. Andy barrels up the slopes, riding wide-open-throttle on his TT-R225. 8O Andy descends almost as fast as he rides up the mountains. I will never become as good a trail rider as Andy. Therefore, I would not attempt to "blast" my 200cc Zong up this particular mountain. However, I enjoy slowly tractoring up the steep slopes on my XR650L. I'm addicted to the torque. Brother Andy rides hard, but he enjoys the beautiful scenery even more than the hard riding. Spud

Spud, anytime I feel as if I live in the most beautiful part of the country all I have to do is look at your pics to know i don't :? . May I add also you are an excellent photographer.
We've all been in Andy's position, horizontal! Due to the extra power, I also find my KLX to be much easier to ride than Q, although I certainly appreciated that bike too.

Thank you, Doc. I didn't even consider climbing that hill, because I knew I would be horizontal much sooner than Andy! He only dropped the bike at the top, when he had to stop because he ran out of goat trail.
Of course, descending is frequently more hazardous than ascending. I knew I didn't want to ride down that hill, even if I could make it to the top! Andy rode right down, without any problems whatsoever. Incidentally, that hill is a lot tougher than it appears in the photographs. It is very steep, and covered with loose, hidden rocks the size of small watermelons. 8O Brother Andy doesn't drop his bike very often. Spud

Its hard to capture in a picture how hard a hill is to ride. I've posted pics here of the Hill Of Doom and other toughies and they don't look so bad in the pictures! :?
Plus it has more to do with the looseness and rockiness of the surface than the actual incline too.
