I can't do stoppies with that thingy hanging off the front! Mine will soon be on it's way to Pauli.

Sssshh! I hear Frostbite approaching with the hose...

Anyhoo, does anyone have these on the back brake? I would think the front (or both) would make more sense so you have less chance of going butt over teakettle.

I was really good at locking up the rear brake in MSF class! The coaches weren't too impressed with the skidmarks. :roll:

woops(again) I've seen them on both the front and rear. Mostly on the front. do you have disk on the rear? the most important thing is will the gold look good with the pink?(you think?)

I wouldn't put it on the rear anyway. And I have gold forks...but no silver spoons...

Ive seen them front and rear, and I havent had any occasion where ive locked up the front, just the rear (used to braking in a truck now, not used to the bike anymore), I think it is far more likely to lock up the back on these things... Thats where I would put it.

Pumpkin had one on the rear brake caliper on his American Lifan. PM him! Maybe we can talk him out of it! If we can, I'll throw it in the box.

Of course that would work too, I was just saying with that on the back it wouldnt do that. I drive a truck all day and am used to being heavy on the brakes... I don't ride that often right now due to weather and this bike is lighter then my other one. On top of that I have new boots. So yes, I could apply less rear brake preassure, but with a little misjudgment for whatever reason on the rear brake pedal, it is very easy to lock.

That ABS unit works well on the front of mine.
You dont need it on the back since the tire will at worst lock up and just trail behind you unless your in a turn but controlling a locked rear wheel is very very easy.

I started to test it just after getting the bike and at first I just applied enough front brake to activate it.
After a few tests I just clamped down on the front brake lever about as hard as I could and it is amazing how well it worked.No front tire lockup or loss of control but just good useable braking.
Of course that was on pavement I wouldnt clamp down on the front brake that hard on dirt.

I finally got my front to lock up last night (Yes, I have the ABS module on the front). I was adjusting the clutch and wanted to make sure that it wouldn't slip. While rolling at a few mph, I opened the throttle and applied some front and rear brake. No slippage. Then I cracked the throttle to WOT and apparently I had too much front brake applied because it locked up and slid out from underneath. Luckily I didn't go down... I've done that in dirt before on a dirt bike, but never on the street. Holy crap does that front wheel come out from underneath quickly. Long story short, whatever those things are, I'll take them.
