Jay... Your Templar X is supposed to come with rear passenger foot pegs. You have to mount them. They should be in the crate. Call or contact the seller if they are not in the crate somewhere. PSM will send them if that's who you bought it from.
We got them with my son's X in April.

My Templar X has a perfectly comfortable seat. I did a 100mi ride on it over the weekend, mostly pavement on the stock knobby tires.
After about 35mi my butt went to sleep and I couldn't feel anything wrong with the seat at all

The answer to your question hasn't changed:
-These bikes in the dual sport category are underpowered, with CG230 (15hp), or CB250 (20hp) engines.Titan has OHC variant of the CG (17hp). They are dirt bikes, so it's enough power for that.

- Hawk, TBR7, Raven, Bashan Storm have wider more padded seats that don't let you sit farther back.

- Templars, Titan have Enduro seats that allow forward/back movement but most people complain about it. Not made for touring

ALL are geared down. You can change sprockets to get them to higher road speeds if you aren't too heavy.

Bottom line is none of these bikes are really good for more than City streets and two lane highway (60mph)

Oh sure you can wring them out and get to 70. Not fun

Personally, I like the Enduro seat on my Templar. Changed seating position relieves the strain and you can't do that on the cup-shaped seat on the TBR7, Hawk. The extra 5 hp is significant as well.

For an extra thou, the KPX has EFI and a slightly wider Enduro seat which some might like more than Templar. I hear that Titan has the toughest Enduro seat but I haven't been on it

More than one person has started with a Hawk, 2nd bike was a KPX250, finally got the Kawasaki KLR650 they should've got in the first place. lol


I love my Hawk and do NOT want it to do 70mph. They're not designed to go that fast and you can feel it wanting to speed wobble. While the bike is pretty true when it comes to tracking, the faster you go, the more the bad welds and slight misalignment's start to say HI! 60 is plenty fast, certainly enough to kill you if you went down all by yourself. If someone needs to pass, just move over to the right of the lane and let them.
