There is a lot to be said about the rugged simplicity of a slide carburetor. It's just unfortunate that they had to tune them so poorly from the factory to try and meet emissions regs. As long as this EFI system isn't tuned the same way it can only be an improvement, especially if it is a self learning system.

I read a article years ago by a ex motorbike mag journalist /tester after he had
stopped working for bike mags...

Basically he said... they can not be to honest if a bike is crap and they say that...
next thing the supply of new bikes to test starts drying up..

Importers don't want to take the chance that a bike mags test could effects sales
in a negative way ...

The best quality bike of this style I have seen in recent year was Jialing JH200GY-5A EFI I had 1
Current sold model is the Honda 150 that also is a good true quality bike.
Both bikes in China are not cheap the Jialing retailed for $2000 the Honda is near the $1400 mark.

Much better more real build quality and no need to tear apart a new bike to make it semi decent.

Things will be backed up now because of the shutdown.

I had always been intrigued by Jialing's dual sport since Carl Parker (owner of mychinamoto.com and publisher of advmoto magazine) had one and rode it all over the place and featured it on his documentary. That was the venerable 150cc carb model. Unfortunately Jialing nor an importer brought their bikes to the US other than some anonymous scooters which show up regularly year after year on the EPA certification list. Not sure who distributes those here.
