We have security cameras, but that is not fool proof. it is really irritating, like stray dog comes along and pees on your pants leg.

Thanks for the supports fellas, appreciate. But sadly no, with the price of these bikes, I only opted for basic liability. So no help financially recovering any of my loss.

a small lithium battery and a charger controller would be small and run that tracker probably for a week even if someone took the bikes battery out. Might pick a few up and see how well they work.

It is a sickening feeling. Between the cost of the bike, tax tag and title, mods and gear we had close to 2k in it, which he had worked half that off. So he's out about 1k in labor and I'm out about 1k in cash. But I'm not broke and if we haven't heard anything in a week we'll be shopping for a used or new one, and possibly alarm and insurance solutions.

Thanks wedoit...

My bike is garage stored.

I am thinking more for when I travel somewhere like to the mall or store, a small chain for the rear and an alarm would prevent someone from stealing in broad daylight

Same here. With the cost of full coverage it's not worth getting. Having my bike for 3 years, For the cost of Full coverage I would of paid for a new bike. That's a chance we have to take but in your case it would of been nice.

The alarm I posted earlier work great. It uses a 9v battery as a back up in case power is disconnected. I have everything installed under the seat so you will never know it's there. You can adjust how sensitive it is too. Not that I'm saying it will stop them from stealing but I think most thieves would move on and not mess with it once the alarm goes off. It also has a remote start feature but I ended up uninstalling that portion as it was more of a pain because you still have to insert the key to unlock the steering.

I wonder how well the stock alarm thing works on the storms, never played with it. Might for kicks.

The one I have works well. If you bump the bike it will give a few short warning whistles. If you bump it again It goes hog wild loud. Even with the siren behind the plastic it is ear piecing loud.

I know this pain all too well. I hope they find it. I still haven't recovered my last Hawk.

Well between FBook, and the fact that I'm an all around likeable guy, have buddies in the seedy underworld and cop friends in 3 different countries spreading the word. Every mailman, police.officer that works evenings, and a few grimy sob's have got "feelers" out for me. So trying to stay optimistic.

do you figure it's some local crackheads that've been watching too many 12 o'clock boys videos?

This wasn't random, I figure they had walked past the bike several times visiting friends or family, and you couldn't see it from the road so..

They work OK - at times a bit too sensitive
I have 1 that I can reduce the sensitivity on.
I also have a GPS tracker that no one can find even tearing the bike down cause it so well hidden......
