X2 on everything Weld said. I certainly hope your mother feels better very soon, and I will remember her in my prayers.

I recognize the spark plug, fuel injector, and stepper motor. However, what is the plastic piece?

But I think it may be a throttle position sensor

I have done 100 miles since fitting the new injector.

So far so good, the oil level has remained static.

It is perhaps to early to say whether it has definitely solved the problem, but it looks promising

Cheers for the good news Kat, I'll mention this when I get my bike serviced, looks like my oil level rising after the oil change again :-(

Angry i cheated

ok ,i started this post awhile back because i was havin problems with the bike. because of work an family issues i wasnt able to work on it and install the parts csc sent me until yesterday.Let me say my original plan was to install the parts( shown earlier in this post) one at a time starting with the fuel injector,,so to be able to actually find and diagnose the issues,.After seeing the difficulty of where these parts where located an realizing id have to remove the tank for each part change ,i installed all 3 pieces while i had it apart...I also did a valve adjust at this time while i had the bike apart,,,,,WOW ,,, while the intake valves where a breeze,,,( btw the intake valves where very tight) The exhaust valves are a real pain to access, Initial test ride impressions are it runs well ,,less popping on decelleration,,,But it stilled stalled at a stop sign an once also at a red light,,,so no success there ,,,Time will tell if the new fuel injector has fixed the gas in the oil problem..I also adjusted the rear shock to a stiffer setting like spud did,,,,it still sucks and i have to find a different shock!!! I also did a complete oil change ,an all 3 screen an filter service....,,This all took me little over 4 hours.so i hope it was worth it.

Thanks for posting the update. Check the battery voltage. Low voltage will cause the bike to stall as you described.

I hope the new injector nails the problem for you, Fish.

CSC have added a "checking your oil " update to their blog that explains why the oil level can appear to rise.

They have also added a new method for checking your oil level.

CSC

So I probably didn't need to change my injector after all

Though I do still wonder why my oil and crankcase was stinking so badly of fuel

oil and fuel injector

kat you where probably correct in changing your fuel injector ,,as my my oil also smelled heavily of gas ,,,an ok so there s a techicnical way of checking the oil,,,I still feel if you wait till the next day ,it gives the oil plenty of time to stabalize in all areas,,,,and if its entire day later ,,bike is up on the centerstand and the view window is completely full,,, when last week it wasnt ,,,i still feel theres a problem ..I guess the only way to prove it is to measure the oil taken from the engine at next change.

Your quite right fish,

The last time a changed my oil, prior to fitting the new injector, it smelt like neat fuel !

A small wiff of fuel would be kind of ok.

I will continue to monitor my oil level and measure the amount of oil drained on my next oil change as you have suggested

Just a thought on the exhaust popping on deceleration thing.

If I remember correctly

Exhaust joint leaks have been known to cause this, allowing air in and giving un burnt gases enough oxygen to ignite in the pipe
