do not remove the screen in the new pipe, if you do it will not be park approved and you could be fined for riding it in a public park..
on a better note, that new pipe is going to really really clean the look of the bike up.. that stock muffler is like well a stock muffler, its restrictive, heavy and ugly

I plan to leave the spark arrestor in. It would not take much to set dry sage, bentgrass and tumbleweed alight 8O .
I've read and seen dyno reports that a pipe and jet kit cause measurable and felt horsepower gains. To be honest though I will miss the stealth of the original pipe. This bike is as quiet as a ceoiling fan in stock form.

70 bucks seems kinda pricey to me. If it were me, I would get some C-channel and cut a "V" notch on the sides and bend up. Weld the notch back up and anchor the same as the store bought rail.

I thought $70 seemed OK.
I figure the steel would be pricey to make my own, and add in time, travel to the store and to my friend's, and getting him to do the welding, tax on materials and gas for the pickup this was a good way to go. Plus being ready made it will save me a few hours, including painting, travel, and construction.

Painted trailer, turned out good. It should be able to resist the sun and elements for another 20 years now.
My Two Brother's Racing exhaust and Dynojet kit should be here today or next week. This should really wake the KLX up. And my neighbors too, I'm afraid...

My Two Brothers Racing exhaust and ynojet kit are in. Andy already installed it on his KLX and said it is LOUD. If he's a racer and says its loud I bet it's loud. Not sure how I'll feel abotu that... 8O

If the performance increase is worth it, you could try a DB dawg. http://www.dnamufflers.com/Ignition/mufflers.html

Andy's bike sounds great! :P
I might be able to tiptoe out of the neighborhood without waking anyone up... There are tips I can add for less than $40 that will lower the sound up to 8db with no loss of power, I may get one. I'll see. I dropped the KLX off at his shop and we will kit mine after work tomorrow. I'll be sure to bring my camera id you all want pics. His bike does rock now though. The power difference is very obvious. Lacking a dyno I will compare top speeds and 40-60 top gear full throttle pulls on the same section of road on windless days. Top-gear roll-on 40-60 mph before mods: 7.4 sec GPS top speed in a tuck before mods: 87 MPH Not bad for a little 250! :P We'll see what she does after the mods. BTW the TBR is 9 pounds lighter than stock with no catalyst.

If? Are you new here? Yes, we want pics!
I'll bet the elimination of the cat is the biggest reason for the power increase.
