N2R, drag bars are low and flat usually. The idea is to get the rider leaning more over the tank to shift weight forward and help keep the front wheel down in a race. If you want lower look up clubman bars. That is even more of the cafe racer look.

Also for both of you guys I just picked up a cb400 with a nice chrome front fender. I can take some measurements to see if it will fit your forks.

my main concern fender-wise, is that it fits the curve of the 21" front wheel. Otherwise it wont look right. BUt if I go street fighter style, i may not put a front fender on at all.

Madman thanks for the pic, the bars would look cool, I wonder what my back would have to say though. The sample pic is sooo nice too, WOW what a bike, if I had money to toss around, that's what I'd ride. SWEET Bike. You got good taste Madman.

Kato, as for your cb400 fender, don't you need it? If you don't, then yes please measure the mounts and PM me. Your cb400 front wheel looked bigger than 18", it isn't a 21 though is it?
Last thing, what is a KatoRanger? Lord of the rings meets Bruce Lee? Inquiring minds need to know.

I believe the cb400 has a 19" wheel. It is just another parts bike that has a seized engine.

I will measure it to see how close it is.

Katoranger is just a user name that I have been user since about 2000.

Kato for Mankato, MN and ranger as in the ford truck (The tin worms finished it off). Nothing real special.

I went to the junkyard yesterday to drop of scrap metal and ended hauling more home again. In the form of a 52 David Bradley tractor. $10.

That's not the first time either. Let's see. 4 motorcycles and 1 scooter from that yard too.

ahhh...back on topic...

The exhaust and foot pegs from SamM arrived today (Thanks Sam!) I have not had time for a test fit but eyballing them it looks pretty close so I hope it will work. Anyway, since I didn't get all of the bolting on pieces from Sam I had to run out to try to find bolts and I found just about perfect matching bolts in the two sizes I needed for the bike and they are flange bolts as well and are almost a perfect match for the stock bolts but the have a larger hex head on the smaller ones (10mm instead of 8mm) they are probably better quality than the stockers as well.

I also discovered that one of the exhaust studs has been broken off. There is still some of the stud there but I'll have to wait until Tuesday to see if I can get replacements from the Honda dealer.

Anyway, i'll be test fitting and maybe temporarily bolting on the exhaust tomorrow so stay tuned to this thread for more pics!

Update-a-roo

I got the exhaust and pegs from Sam installed today, unfortunately I have not gotten my throttle cable and assembly back from the shop so i was not able to start the bike to hear it with the exhaust. I pulled both exhaust studs and replaced them with stainless allen head cap screws and used automotive grade bolts to secure the rest of the exhaust.

Cap screws...

Full exhaust and pegs...

Wow, that new custom exhaust looks good! Someone painted those ugly chrome heatshields with matte black 2400 degree heat resistant paint and everything. COOL!

Got my kickstarter and shift lever installed today. The new throttle cable turned out to be too short so i'm still not able to take a test drive but i'm getting closer.

I rigged a temp throttle cable and was able to rev the motor and it sounds pretty good and smooth. I know it will sound even better when i actually get it ride ready and adjust the valves and change the oil.

It does start pretty easy as well.

more info at my blog. I'll get some more pics up as well later.
