Looks awesome dh! Nice to know that Taobao has all the stuff too!
Mrs. 2LZ and I finally did a recon by that SSR dealer today. Small place, mostly scooters and he had one XF250, on consignment. Said he was getting a shipment of new bikes on Monday if I wanted to swing by. I may just do that to see what he considers "stocked". It's good to also see that many parts are the same between our bikes. I'm sure the cables, wearing parts, brake pads, etc.. will mostly swap over to my Q. The side covers look identical.

Very Nice looking Bikes!! 2LZ, they only reason there is a sea of Hondoids on here is because this place is the CBMMA (cheap bastards motorcycle maintenance association) and the Hondoids are CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP!! That Qlink and SSR are VERY NICE looking machines.

2lz. Perhaps you could sell the 09Q and opt for a upgrade?? I'm sure that thing is probably better now then when it came out of the box. Here's a thought , it's 8 years old, probably seems like you were bolting the wheels on it just a couple of weeks ago, right

Yep!....and after much study, there's very little difference between the SSR XF250 and my Q, besides the fat rims and tires and the TU250 motor. Speaking of cheap, Q's paid for! ;-)

The beauty of the Hondoid, especially this new generation to come out, is that they're cheap (for 49 states), reliable and now parts are available everywhere. It's a whole new CB world now.

With any luck, the Hawk and TT will Draw new blood into the China Bike Imports. Some other importer will step up and bring in some more. There are some Awesome looking bikes in the China Bike News letter. I'm especially fond of that Tekken! Time will tell. But you guys feel free to post up new pics of the non Hondoids. If it has 2 wheels I LIKE looking at it.

Not just the TT and Hawk (or other next gen Hondoids) but SSR (and the TT I might add) had a very good write up in Dirt Bike Magazine last month on their 189cc dirt bike. They were comparing it to the Honda CRF150 and said it's a little heavier than the Honda but is 1500.00 less and performed very well. They took it seriously.

I have seen that 189 that SSR has. It is a very nicely done bike for sure. Heck I don't think any SSR offering is bad. And for their bikes to be getting a nod by mainstream motorcycle rags, says something.

Jim it would be great to see some pics of the new bike. Are you buying brand new? It would be good to see if any changes have been made to the newest version. The overseas version now has EFI and larger brakes. I accidentally ordered the new front rotors for my 2013 from Taobao.
Lately I have been ordering parts from the SSR dealership as they have really improved their parts inventory over the last several years. Ordering parts at my local shop is just as easy as ordering parts for Japanese bikes, only cheaper. Taobao or CMPO.com have been useful too, but international shipping can be costly and forget about returns or exchanges. CMPO now sells oem parts on Amazon as well, but the prices don't blow me away. Keep in mind the motor/trans parts are all available from Suzuki if you prefer. I use K&N oil filters, and Suzuki parts when it comes to cheap things like gaskets or o-rings. I just got a set of clutch plates from Taobao because they were too cheap to pass up, but I will probably get the clutch springs from Suzuki.

Would love to post pics, but, it will not be of an SSR 250. It will be a GPX 250SE. Lighter bike, more ground clearance, better suspension (from what I'm told), but of all these things the deciding factor was customer service. Being able to converse with Gary at GPX directly was a WAY better experience than communicating with SSR.
Thanks Fellas
