My only issue with the Savage styling is the tail light. It looks out of place, like a big chunk of watermelon sitting atop the rear fender. I plan to one day install an aftermarket tail light just above the license plate, like an old Harley Dyna.
The Savage/S40 gets a bad wrap because it will not do the ton. The torquey engine was designed for zooming around town without needing to do a lot of shifting. Faster, higher reving engines require a lot of shifting to adjust to traffic conditions on urban streets. The Savage is working out well for my commuting and errands.
