First guess is they're not adjusted tight enough. Second guess is you've left a spring off or i the wrong place. Fix it! I slid through an intersection doing 70mph with the rear locked one time. Did just what you said, popped, but mine locked and wouldn't unlock!

Yes, Check to make sure they are adjusted correctly. You should only need the move the pedal slightly to engage the rear brake. Allen

Thanks guys, I'll adjust before I test. I'll pull the wheel and inspect the drum too.
