Check out the Templar 250. Full sized Enduro with a ZS 249cc 19hp engine. Heavy duty inverted forks. Not adjustable like my Templar X, but that X is not available at the moment. I had good transaction with powersportsmax. They seem related to XPro somehow, but based on CA. The Templar is made by Zuumav, new to US market but not a new dirt bike builder.

Templar 250 is available in lime green! Oh that ZS engine mil is on the KPX Jerry got. Different variant (5 speed) but same block. It's a great engine. 172FMM-3A is on the Templar. Also gets a nice stainless steel exhaust system, 520 chain, big bear claw pegs, short shifter with folding tip, effortless twisting roller throttle assy.

I think so. My -3A is a smooth runner. Lots of willing torque too!

I just checked the specifications for the 172FMM-3A Zongshen engine. It's a non counterbalanced engine. Still a good engine though.

So the motor in the KPX IS counter balanced? From your video it doesn't have the bump on the bottom end like a counter balanced CG would.

The 172FMM-3A was OEM on KAYO 250 and GPX FSE250R. These are expensive bikes.
https://www.advrider.com/f/threads/2...364671/page-14 That is a long thread by the way. Lots of chatter about the 172FMM Here is the 3A: 172FMM-3A Here is a thread (this site) on this topic, kind of... https://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=29431 It is a great engine. I love it! My Templar X is easily competitive with those expensive bikes. I wonder if powersportsmax will have them in stock again? The Templar 250 is made by Zuumav too, and it has most of the key components at a great price! Where did you find those specs Jerry? |

Do you have a link to the KPX? I can't seem to find anything on it.

Yes it is. If you look in my KPX thread you will see in the engine parts list were the counter balance is located. It doesn't stick out as far as on the CG engine. It also has a regular oil filter and not just the screen

It depends what kind of tinkering you want to do. I went with the X-Pect because I wanted EFI. I'm sick of messing with carbs. There's still plenty to tinker with on an EFI bike. Forks, chain, sprockets, tires, etc. I've done plenty of work on it. I just don't have to mess with it to make it run right. I put in gas and go. If you want to tinker with carbs and you love that, go for a carb'd bike like the Brozz. If you want a bike that just works and you can tinker with other parts of it, go with an EFI bike. Had I known the KPX 250 was coming out, I would not have bought my X-Pect and waited for it. It's a big upgrade over the X-Pect. |

That definitely has my attention. I know I am quite a bit bigger than you so I may not see quite the same top end, but I know what my Hawk can do vs. Yours with similar setups, and I think I can translate that over. Now I just need to get my life settled before I make a financial leap like that.
