Just for others to know, I just pulled my carb and my 2018 TT250 has a 105 main jet, and a 38 "slow" jet according to the CSC diagram.
I also noticed that my idle jet was just a brass piece, no screw adjuster on it. And it's not a brass plug to drill out, it was just a brass bump you can thread out by hand. Looked at some other threads, I guess it's normal. I slotted it and set it to 1.5 turns out from bottomed. |

Bike only has 28 miles, so I have not went above 6k. Runs good, no popping noise on deceleration, I am at 3,800 ft. Bike start quickly and idles perfect. |

the TT250 has a AIS system....
that's where the popping on a closed throttle is coming from.. no amount of jetting changes will alter that.. Making the jetting richer will make it pop/bang more... you are giving it more fuel to burn in the exhaust pipe... .. If you really want to stop it... remove the AIS and block the hole in the head that leads to the exhaust port and the air box connection.. and/or remove the ignition source…..The cat... When you shut the throttle fuel goes straight though the motor unburnt and into the exhaust pipe..... so the AIS then lets air/Oxygen into the pipe when the fuel gets to the red hot cat it burns "POP/BANG" you hear.. then a cleaner exhaust... You can clearly see the AIS pipe going in to the head/exhaust port in the picture.. just remove it and make a blanking plate.. There are a few here that have done it....I have not got a TT250... so one of them might talk you thought how and what parts to remove... But it is very basic to do.... don't let anyone tell you other wise... ..

An update on my 2018 TT250. I went from a 105 main jet to a 100, moved the needle up one notch, and adjusted the idle mixture screw 1.5 turns out. I also put 93 octane in the tank. Around 250 miles on it.
The bike runs WAY better than factory, and pulls really nicely. The noise I have been hearing is still there, so I'm guessing it's not spark knock, given the recent fuel mods and octane increase. I'll pull the plug again at 500 miles and see how it looks. |

You got a 2 year warranty anyway? I wouldn’t worry it is made in China and not totally perfect and not totally bad |

Is the main bearing bad? Or are they just noisy? |

Getting off topic, but does your Speedee indicate that it came from Excalibur Motorsports? They used to import the Shineray Speedee.
