I like the orange best out of your choices......but I've always been partial to Kawasaki green. I think that would look sweet on the zong.

I thank everyone for his feedback. ChromeDioxide has got me thinking about the Desert Tan.

Also, I would like to welcome Zongkykong to these forums. He suggested Kawasaki Green.

I think both colors are excellent suggestions; therefore, I have added them to the poll.

Thanks for the input, AZ. Perhaps some music would help the selection process?

Thanks for the input, and the compliment, Jim.

I doubt the Clarke XT225 fuel tank would fit your Lifan GY5, Jim. :( Getting an aftermarket fuel tank to fit around the engine, forks, handlebars, and seat is a difficult job. The Clarke XT225 tank fits the Zong only because the Zong's engine and frame are close copies of the Yamaha TW200 and XT225 motorcycles.

Indeed, I am a religious man, Culcune! I have always liked the orange, and orange is currently leading in the poll.

Undoubtedly, orange is the fastest color! However, speed has never been my Zong’s strongest asset.

The Desert Tan is really starting to appeal to me, Doc. The Desert Tan allows the YamaZong to create its own identity, without copying other motorcycles. Also, the Desert Tan really blends well with the Idaho landscape.

The Kawasaki Green also harmonizes with the Idaho Mountains, but perhaps not as well as the Desert Tan.

Of course, it's hard to go wrong with basic black.

The stock Zong is a great little motorcycle, Doc. However, I must admit, I have had an enormous amount of fun modifying this bike!

Thanks for the tip, Chrome. I was unaware of the military KLR650; it is a great motorcycle!

Krylon Fusion spray paint is available in Ultra Flat Camouflage Khaki, a pretty close match to Desert Tan.

Perhaps it is time to experiment with some scrap plastic from the Zong fuel tank shroud?

The tan is the way to go. It's also original, not a copied color from another bike. Finally, touchups will be a breeze on a flat color, and no polishing required.

Very true, oh wise physician. However, the Krylon Fusion paint is also available in Ultra Flat Camouflage Black! No manufacturer has established basic black as a signature color; therefore, it's also an independent color scheme.

I don't like the flat black as much. It looks too much like primer you never got around to finishing. That said, my first Q was flat black, but with some decals and lettering and stuff to break it up and make it look nicer.

JMHO.

Thanks for the input, Doc. Krylon Fusion spray paint is also available in Gloss Black and Satin Black; I am sure both these colors would look better than the Ultra Flat Black.

Maybe offset the 'flatness' with some nice decals, MAYBE combine a Zongshen and a Yamaha decal?
