I just got a Templar X 6 speed this week from Powersportsmax for less than $2200 delivered. In my opinion, it’s the very best value Chinese bike available right now. And 3 times less than any comparable Japanese bike. That’s just my opinion. And I did a lot of research before I made my purchase.

the bottom line here is you won't go wrong with the Hawk. for what you have in mind it will be perfectly fine. reliability is reasonable on them. If you can afford to go for the DLX version, you may find that the fuel injection vs carb is worthwhile. my carbed model was ok though. a little tinkering with jetting and it ran well.
take a look at this. they offer layaway. for your budget, I'd consider this a best option. look around their site though, they have hawks and other stuff listed too. https://www.powersportsmax.com/produ...ducts_id/23812 |

Something to keep in mind about the Templar X. The bike is technically not street legal. But like the Hawk you can get them registered in most states as long as it has everything required to make it street legal. Personally i would go with the Tempar X over the Hawk DXL.

I live in West Virginia and I've seen folks on freakin 3 wheelers driving around unmolested so I am hoping its possible. I guess I will call DMV tomorrow and see what they say. If I can get it plated..this is the choice. |

Templar X 250 has passenger foot pegs installed. But again Hawk DLX may be better for your needs. Hanz is one of the channels I like for sharing Hawk and Hawk DLX purchase.
Here is something to watch and see if it’s better for you. And another Hanz also has a Lifan that he has separate videos on but that’s the cafe racer. Edit: Hanz didn’t know about a Templar yet when he did these but it will give you some Hawk and Hawk DLX opinions. His criteria though is bikes you can get from Amazon.

The Brozz 250 if available is also a good option, super easy to ride and probably the most comfortable seat out of any of the China bikes plus has excellent customer support via Peace Sports.. my Brozz has over 4k miles, 2 years old, and runs like a top

Don't let people derail you with extra gears and power. If the bike fits your needs and budget, go for it. The Hawk DLX is a good bike. The 5 gears it comes with are more than adequate to achieve and maintain speeds up to 65mph with the right sprockets, without issue. My Hawk is a few years old and heavily upgraded and has spent probably 70% of its life going 55 to 65mph. I have done thousands of miles this way.
If you aren't opposed to a carburetor then the previously mentioned Brozz is a great alternative. Chassis wise. The Hawks (all variations and brands) may not be mx bikes, but they aren't made out of paper either. The frames are durable and the suspension is adequate when properly setup. They have less travel than a true dirt bike but a bit more than a street bike. Dual and single track, rough pavement, and dirt roads are what they are for. Want to go 70mph over whoops and jump off berms, then definitely look elsewhere.

West Virginia has a new law that you can register, and license "special purpose vehicles", https://transportation.wv.gov/DMV/Ve...-Vehicles.aspx
For years they would allow about anything on the road in the southern counties, because if the Hatfield, and McCoy trails, and in the rest of the state, the law never really hassled anybody on 4 wheelers, dirt bikes, and side x sides when on secondary roads, but now everytime you go into town, you see people driving around in side x sides, just like one would a regular car. Kids even take them to school.. |

Thumper ,you should look at the powersports max website where it clearly says “off road use only “ down near the bottom of the page ,that was exactly how the Hawks were sold ,most states registered them ,some didn’t .Just because you had no problems ,doesn’t mean someone in another state won’t .

The Templars are street legal. Everyone that has tried to register and insure have been successful. Just why are you implying, and why are you implying this? If it can be registered and plated, exactly what is technically not street legal about it? More importantly, what does it matter? I drive confidently past sheriff, state cops, local policeman, and I can show financial responsibility (insurance card), legal registration. Gee. |

Keep in mind that the guy posting these videos is riding primarily on pavement or on level dirt surfaces. These bikes are categorized as dual sport, which suggests that they can be ridden off road. But knobbies (Hawk) and dual sport tires (DLX) have very different performance off road. These are not motocross/enduro bikes.
Just sayin' Quote:
