I've heard of people doing similar things with volkswagon bugs. They'd soup up their motors but they had to be very carefull not to drop the clutch as it put to much stress on the engine.
So aftermarket companies sold little colars you'd stick in the clutch spring mechanism that would delay a clutch engagement slightly.. this way if you dumped the clutch during a drag race then it'll stop it from realy dumping thus saving your tranny. So if what knothead is true (and I have no doubt that it is) then that little do-hiky is suppose to make your tranny last longer. |

We all seem to have grasped what the crush drive does, it's for more than lifting wheels, just letting the revs drop in the higher gears so it gets "snatchy" causes shock loads between the gears. I've started a new thread on my next thoughts.
