I’ve looked at shipping a wheel with DHL to the USA it’s about $100
I’ve not tried EMS from China
The thing is I can’t test fit stuff as no what’s etc here or they vary a bit which makes it complex to be certain it’s right etc
But for $199 I’m damn sure i can do an Ali rim prob stainless spokes and bibs and ship to the USA - better quality at the same price point
Hell I’ve tried to give away a $95 digital dash for free and help with treat fit and confirm its right or if I need to tweak the wiring etc a little but no takers at all!
I just don’t get what makes people with Hawk tick it seens

Ski_rush, In my opinion unless you are doing some serious off road riding I think you will be happy with the 17" tires. A Shinko 700 or 224 Series tire would be good dualsport tire. https://www.shinkotireusa.com/produc...es-tire/211928

Me neither. I've not loctited a single bolt on any of my CBs, with the exception of the TT250 sprocket bolts. I just go over them, make sure everything is torqued to spec or snug and adjusted properly. Never had a problem.

Apollo DB36 Deluxe arrived today.

I opened the crate with the driver there, to inspect it before he left. I didn't notice any damage. It was wrapped better on the outside than the Enforcer I had.

One thing I did notice was that the front tire is slightly smaller than quoted. Even the DOT sticker says it should be a 110-17", but it's a 100 - 17"

Too bad it's 5 degrees outside and almost as cold in my garage.

So it begins...

You need to plug in the heater and get started. Frame looks to be pretty stout.

Congrats or buying a new bike, exciting. Im back on because Im so close to ordering the storm tomorow over the enforcer but now i have to consider and learn about this new model. What are the difference/benifits of this bike over the storm or enforcer(I know the difference between these two)? From searching I see it has more HP? 15.65 where the storm and enforcer are always listed as around 11.5hp. Looks like it has fake radiators louvers for looks, the frame is mabye nicer, rear disk brake, swing arm is nicer. Fyi I wish they release the EFI version here in US already, would of made my choice easier. Also are any of these bike six speed?

I will...it might be a little bit though. The bikes still in the crate. I removed the metal cage around it, but it's still sitting in the bottom of the crate with the front forks bolted in. I'm waiting for my brother-in-law to help me get it on my bike lift.

I want to do the carb before I even start the bike. Looks like I need to remove the tank to be able to access it. Not accessible like it is on the Hawk.

I wish I made more progress...I got up very early and thought about going out in the garage, but the 4 degree temp outside sucks, and my garage isn't heated.

Instead of waiting for the brother-in-law, anyone have any good tips on getting the bike on a bike lift by oneself? I'm afraid of dropping it.

Do you have anything to attach a couple of ratchet straps overhead like the garage door track? A few members have done it that way.

remember, if you put the handle bars on before de-crating make sure you don't lift the bike while griping on the throttle grip. like me i did this and broke the inside plastics of the throttle tube and throttle cable stopper and now my throttle grip moves both ways normal and forward.

Jerry...interesting. I hadn't thought of that or read that before. I could do that. I have straps and the bike just about underneath the door track. And, it doesn't really weight that much.

I'd hang off on ordering until you see how this comes together. The Apollo's, on the whole, has always been a really nice bike. Different from your run-of-the-mill Hondoids. Core-style frame, OHC Hondoid motor, nicer suspension and especially, sheds that Old World box steel swing arm that's almost impossible not to crush while tightening the rear axle.
