i signed this as well earlier today, but with only 300 something signatures and a week to go, GOOD luck.. i really hope that they dont pass that bullshiz legislation... for your childrens sake..
EDIT: I just posted bulletins on myspace with the links and the GIST of whats going on. I have about 200 friends on my list, and most of my friends have at least 100 that arent mutual. I figure that may allow the petition to gain at least 200-300 more vote overall.. if you have myspace, i'd urge you to do the same.. it does allow fast networking, and people love motorcycles, so im sure that they will pass it on..

:( Bicycles will be next...
Don't let any of them see these statistics. http://www.helmets.org/stats.htm I have been operating motorized vehicles since I was 8. Mini-bikes and motorcycles. I am 45 now. My grandpa showed me how to drive an old ford pickup with a 3 on the tree, out in his pasture when I was 14. I have been in a few wrecks over the years, but fortunately nothing real serious. I truly believe that it is because I started so young that it has taught me to be a better driver/rider. I started my son a little later, 10. It is rough sometimes watching him make some mistakes, but I would rather see a few minor mistakes now in the dirt than a major mistake on the road because he started riding so late. I hope that legislation doesn't pass! (It sounds like an insurance company conspiracy to me.) |

Not that AZ is that great of a state (see some other unrelated posts), but I did dig this up from the AZ Fish and Game Dept's site in response to a recent 14 year-olds death on an ATV. (There was a death just last week here in Yuma by a 10 year old on a quad)
http://www.azgfd.gov/artman/publish/article_717.shtml I think that the typical desert rat/white trash Arizona parent will bitch and moan over the law between beers, but it does allow their kids to ride with safety equipment on. It's one thing to ride without a helmet being an adult, but under 18, if its a law, at least the few who die each year in AZ might not have died in vain. Besides, motocross helmets look really cool!

I'd rather put my 8 year old son on a 2-stroke CR-500 dirt bike than anywhere near that Donkey... story time!
When my wife got through with the how cute, and we gotta have him, and please, and the Doe eyes, and the being nice, I like all stupid males relented. The donkey came home to the tune of $400, a borrowed horse trailer, 150 mile round trip $50 in gas a crap load of hay bales and a good solid days labor in the barn making a ramp and a pen for the beast. The next morning Donkey was cozying up to the wife and nuzzling in when without warning he turned and bit her square on the breast 8O I kept my mouth shut but from that point on it was all worth it Aaron |

Good luck with this frostbite. I signed, and I hope everyone reading these forums does as well. Unfortunately some tragedies will happen no matter what. Also unfortunate is that most, if not all, forms of govt are reactive rather than proactive.

Holy crap...you're just as far away from me geographically as most of our American friends but because it's a fellow Canadian province that's just too close to home. I wouldn't put it past our province  .
Good luck, R. P.S. will sign...
