Yeah no more riding for me till she’s fixed. I removed the left side cover and saw no broken teeth. So I’m guessing it’s deeper in the engine. I am still covered under warranty and was told to tell them what part it is so I can have a new one mailed to me. So how hard is it to tear the engine down to find the problem? Or should I just try to send the whole engine?

Perhaps you'll get luck and find that it is a clutch basket tooth. Even so, I'd split the cases to ensure that it's cleaned out.

Pull the right side engine cover and inspect the clutch basket and drive gears from the crankshaft to the clutch. I have a feeling it's in there. Have you been dumping the clutch and riding wheelies? That will kill them pretty quick sometimes.

I inspected the right side tonight and sadly no teeth broken. It’s deeper, not sure what I’m gonna do. Parts covered under warranty but I think I’m gonna have to pay labor. No wheelies but I did notice the clutch acting a little funny a couple days before. Sucks, I wanna open it myself but not really confident. @#$&!!

There are a few Youtube vids to guide you. The CG motor has the same frame of architecture (in the bottom end) as the XR200 / XL185 / CRF230 / ATC200. The process will be easier for you, since you have no cam chain to worry about.

Have confidence. These engines are very simple to work on, so almost anybody can do this with a bit of mechanical aptitude. Take pictures of every step if you have to, or even videos of you explaining to yourself what order things came off/go on. It's not as bad as you think it is in your head.

It’s gonna come out to about 175-200 for labor and shipping. I’m gonna remove the engine tomorrow. Still not sure what I’m gonna do. Thanks weldandgrind for the YouTube suggestions I’m gonna be studying those all weekend. I also should be getting my sons 125cc Apollo piston w/rings tomorrow, his bikes been blowing white smoke like crazy. Been watching vids on how to do that so maybe I’ll see how far I can get on that bike and build my confidence. Thanks for the encouragement, I’ll keep y’all updated.

Anyone know what size flywheel puller to use. How about removing it without a tool. I’m also having a problem taking off the oil pump Phillips head screws?
