Yeah, I knew he was in Cajun country. I have relatives down south in the Florida panhandle. They piss and moan when its 60!

I live in SE Wisco and while is has been unseasonably "warm" (low to mid 40s)
..any day now and the giblets will be in a deep freeze

Yeah, I woke up to a freezing 54* this morning. Got to love living in the south except during Hurricane season.

Gotta love that cajun accent too when Jerry's doing his Hawk vids lol. I was watching a video about transmitter problems and the gentleman was a cajun black man. I swear I almost needed a translator!

Supposed to be 60° tomorrow so both bikes are getting worked on today. Sprocket changes, zerk fittings in the swingarms, and new bark busters for both. Might be an all day job but we'll be ready to ride tomorrow!

I put some miles on mine yesterday and today. Just got back from a 70+ mile ride. Had lots of bike out today on the twisties. I replaced my bouncy front tire out yesterday with a tire that Kim sent me. So much smoother. I hit 75 and didn't feel so squirrely. Hope you get to ride as much as I did.

I haven't posted an update in a while. Before our last ride a couple of weeks ago I switched gear ratios yet again.

Originally I ran 520 12/33 sprockets and was relatively happy with that. Then I went to a 13/33 which made 5th gear almost useless.

Now I'm running a 12/32 which is still a little too tall, so I'm gonna go the other way and try a 12/34. Keep in mind I weigh 260lbs and live in a very hilly area.

You need to do some porting and decking to make them tall gear work in your favor. Lol. I'm sure those hills kill the tall gears.

I'm running a 520 11t 35t on my Hawk which I want set up for mountain use and I like it pretty well. Seems to utilize the engine power band efficiently going up and down the hills at around a 3.1 ratio I bailed on the 13t 35t, while a great ratio, it was too tall for the hills I see, despite the fact I weigh 180 lbs. The sweet spot for me might be 12t 35t but I have yet to test it. I can't imagine something like a 428 17t 40t in a hilly or mountainous region. Can porting and compression mods make that work? Only one way to find out.
