Set of shocks for the truck. After 115,000 miles the stock shocks that came with the truck finally wore out. I guess I'll need to replace the spark plugs as well. 16 Iridium plugs ain't going to be cheap. At least they are easy to get to from the top of the engine.

Vitacci Clash 200 scooter from Amazon.

Sold my trusty Lifan because I couldn't get my leg over it in my old age but really miss 2 wheels. Should be able to ride a step through scooter for a few more years. Thought I'd try this scooter because it has EFI and 14" wheels and is sold through Amazon.

Nice lookin scoot. Let us know how fast it is (after a proper break-in period). Specs say 68 mph.
The 14 inch wheels will help a lot if your roads are as bumpy as ours in Houston.

A lot of experienced riders switch to a step thru scooter after their hips start to bother them.

I'll start a thread on the Vitacci Clash after it arrives. I've owned lots of old 2 stroke Vespas and even a couple Lambrettas but this will be my first 4 stroke scooter and first one without a manual transmission. My 1974 Vespa Rally 200 was the best scooter ever.

Love the Hunt for Red October movie.
The book really gets you involved in the targeting, deception, etc of submarine warfare.

I bought a new area rug for my den with little starfish on it.

Also very good is the sequel, Red Storm Rising, about a USSR/NATO war in Europe.

I read Red Storm Rising but never saw the movie.
These movies became a bit irrelevant with the end of the cold war.
Cold war is back now. Time to read more Clancy!

I have the entire Tom Clancy Jack Ryan Series. Once you're done with that one, look into James Clavell's Asian Saga series. The books (in order) are King Rat, Tai-Pan (my absolute favorite), Shogun, Noble House (my second favorite), Whirlwind and Gai-Jin. I spent some time in East Asia when I was in the military, and the culture was really interesting and storied. I highly recommend the read!

I consider Shogun one of the greatest novels ever written. Read it twice, so far. I read King Rat, but not the rest.
Also love some of the Micheners, especially The Source.

The Army taught me Japanese, Chinese and Romanian, and I served in the last two countries at our embassies there. Am teaching myself Russian now. I see you found an online Russian typewriter app. What is your connection with the language?

Here is the cover of the Clancy novel in Russian. Your letters are somewhat different.

Just did that yesterday in the Ranger. Nowadays, I drive as little as possible and once it hits half tank, I fill. At least the final dollar number on the pump looks about the same as it used to.

Ordered a Seat Concepts cover kit for the DRZ. The stock DRZ seat makes every China bike seat I've ever had feel like lounge chairs. This thing is truly a torture device. Picture taking a hunk of 2x6 and covering it with material.

The closest thing I have to Russian is the owners manual for my Ural. I have an original un-translated one in case I run into something that the English version one I have doesn't do a good job covering. Right now though, it's a tough time to even think about anything Russian. Putin is making the entire country look bad. I speak three languages; Italian (not as fluent as I'd like to be, but I can get fed and get a drink without any problems), English and Bad English.

Spent $135 on half a cart of groceries, and another $85 to fill the suburban up from half a tank. Let's Go Brandon doesn't even begin to describe my frustration with that ass-clown.

I ordered a new seat and pad for the DR-650 about a week after I had it. I can't believe people would go around the world on those bikes in mostly stock form. Medieval torture devices don't have ANYTHING on Suzuki saddles.
