Not joking. A mild NOx dry system is quite easy to set up once the air flow and fuel flow rates are determined. I have no intention of doing so because there better options available if one wants a faster bike. It is best to stay away from pre-owned machines of any type that have been run on the dunes. WFO is the only way to play in sand no matter the machine.

Hi guys, this is a very interesting thread about a very interesting bike. Possibly in a couple of months sales of this beauty will start in my country, bad thing is the version to be sold here is teh carbureted one and I kinda dont like it, I was wondering if its possible to purchase the injection components and do the swap, Im in doubt since on taobao they sell the engine but there are two different options (carbureted and EFI) and that got me thinking that there might be important differences that could rule out a conversion possibility, finally a quick question for taobao users, I was wondering what would be the shipping price for the aluminum luggage set with a taobao agent plus a few other goodies that I think can be sent inside the cases

Revzilla just published a short piece on the RX3. Nice to get some more press as the bikes arrive!

Bellamoto : will the NZ version you sell have a Carburetor or FI? I how about the wheel sizes? Last but not least I noticed the nice smoked wind screen.
Hope to hear your review. Ride it hard through some nasties. |

Watching the calendar
I live in Phoenix and planned a camping trip to Doheny Beach, Dana Point some time ago from 4/13 to 4/16. It would sure be nice if the bike passed through customs and was available for pick up. Fingers crossed.

Break-in oil?
I really enjoyed Belamoto's photos of the uncrating process. Also sounds like CSC's tutorial was helpful in assembling the bike. Which I would expect: CSC did a really nice job laying out the steps, showing how the bars fit together, and photographing the whole process.
But while we anxiously await delivery of our bikes, I did have a question about the tutorial. CSC recommends changing oil before starting the bike for the first time. I am used to bikes and cars that come from the factory with what we used to call "break in oil" that should be changed after a few hundred miles. Not that the break in oil was anything special. My understanding is that the bikes are run briefly by Zongshen for testing before crating. Even so, I would think you could run the original oil for a bit before changing. If not 300 or 400 miles, at least for a engine heat-up cycle or two. At least to warm the oil up before draining. Probably a matter of personal preference. But I'd be interested if CSC has a different take. |
