I always like seeing stock wheels used with slicks.

Small update but feels like a mountain to me. Brakes are bled and she's moving under her own power. I've got a few things lined up, brakes feel hard I'm not sure if the booster gave out, carpet, finish putting the interior together, bolt the battery back down, and a toon. Still waiting on the weld wheels also.
Built a welding car for my tig and new tiawanese plasma cutter. Hoosier slicks are sold so I figured I'd hang the 10 spokes up in the garage as decoration. Always liked these wheels.

Came home to two boxes sitting in the garage
Put a little dishwashing soap and water on the inner bead and it slipped right on. I decided if i feel any vibes from them Im gonna insert some balancing beads through the tire stem. Until then we are gonna roll like this. Fronts are gonna have to wait for a bit. But for now she should hook pretty well.

Another small update but feels like a mountain to me. First thing is first, battery back in the box, bolted down, with carpet under it.
Gonna add some carpet over the trans tunnel and wheel tubs soon. That dont win races so its on the backburner ATM. Got the car on the ground and had no brake assist. Only thing i could figure is the booster was out which made no sense. Bought one online, swapped it out and now i have power assist again. Didnt figure out what went wrong with the original though....... Waxed the wheels for easy cleaning. Looks oddwith 15s and 18s but whatever. MSD 2step on the way and I think Im gonna add a 110v outlet for laptop charging for tuning.

Some HPTuners fuckery going on today. The booster is hooked to the manifold (for vacuum) and the idle has been funky. New booster, time to get the idle dialed in. That's done. Previously, it would foot brake to about 3k and 0 psi and the tires would go up after that. Started reducing timing and the RPMs got way up there, so did the boost. I did this in the garage. I'm impressed with what it can do on the foot brake, 10 psi is gonna make a heck of a launch. More foot brake tuning when the 2step gets here.
Purple MAP is accurate.

Gotta love HPtuners. Reading all your post got me out at the track for test-n-tune night a few weeks ago. Completely stock 14 Ram quad cab with 5.7. It's crazy how much they have these trucks detuned from the factory. This is the first time I ever took this truck to the track. I haven't raced in about 3 years since I sold my turbo charged Chevy Truck. As you can see from the reaction time I'm a little rusty. The first few runs I was really sleeping at the light. I'm waiting to see some quick runs from the Camaro.

Good to have friends in low places. She is "legal" again for tuning. Just need to put this on the windshield.
2step is here......but do i need it? Hit near 15psi at 4200+ rpm on the foot brake in the garage. This seems insane to me, and I have 7lb springs in the gates so how, why? I'm confident i could get that even higher. I have so many questions at this point.....are the gates opening, will i be looking at the sky on launch, did i just waste $250 on a 2step? The future looks exciting. 110v inverter on the way to aid my laptop battery while tuning.

Took the old lady out for a $100 outback lunch. Birthday lunch and she deserves it, a truly good woman.
Bought an ebay gt45, no clue why, maybe we will put it on the yukon tow bitch. The guy I sold myold turbo kit to crushed the cold side pipe. So we are doing him a solid and fixingit for him. Got hptuners, obd2, and 110v outlet on the passenger side. Actually took it out today and remembered the shocks were loose after I thought the rear end was gonna fall out of the car. But she went down the road and made it back home under her own power. I call that a win. Wrapped the 110v in padding cause I'm just gonna put it under the carpet when not in use.

Be Cool 35005. The issue is ground clearance.
Though the old setup fits perfect, but you could see it from the front, and I was worried about it hitting anything, the trailer, something in the road, etc. Couldn't even clear a soda can. So quickly, the old radiator is about 28x19. The Be Cool is 28x16. So we trimmed about 3 inches from the height, which my goal is to make into ground clearance. I had the old set of fans which were pushers, and about 2 to 3 inches trimmed off the top of the shroud. Except they didn't fit. After some trimming we got them to lay flat. It also had no provision for a cylinder head coolant line, so we drilled that. Fan tabs welded, coolant line welded. Comparison. Tried to stay with the original theme, single upper hold down bracket. I raised the lower bracket a few inches. Current ground clearance. It's obviously much better, and no longer the lowest point in the front. Could probably stack two cans under the radiator now.

Its hot. When It's not hot, it's rainy. Besides the BS we still are making progress. Boost Leash is on order, and it needs air.
Viair 10000. It filled it's own tires today. Regulator is capped BC the controller is back-ordered for 2 weeks. Yard pics.

Very nice! thanks for the pictures!!!! Brings back many memeories…..Years ago, in the 60's, my dad operated a speed and accessory shop and sold ET Mags, racing slicks, that I cant remember the name of. Dragfast shifters, and some more shifters I cant remember the name of.

Local track has been shutdown for quite a while. Today the new managers decided to open it up for TNT so to speak. I spent the morning working on the car and decided let's do it. I'm still waiting on the Boost Leash controller so I'm on the wastegate springs, 7psi, no boost controller. The goal here is to just get down the track and see what goes wrong. I wasn't sure if it would leak, blow up, not shift, etc. It was on 19 degrees of timing, 7 psi, 3200 two step rpm. This was no prep, no time. Pro bracket radials had 20 psi in them and they felt as sketchy as full slicks IMO. Outside temps were 95. IATs went from 100 star to 120 end of the pass. Trans temp went from 150-190 during the day.
