Jerry, I figured out that it's supposed to be on "backwards" like that, due to how the chain guide works. There is a groove that the chain rides in, just behind the front sprocket on top of the swingarm. If anything, the JTF270 with an 8.5mm width would work even better. I intend to buy a 14T and check it out.

Why risk putting the 14T with clearance issue when replacing the rear will be much safer? Hope it works out for you.

So I emailed American Lifan about oil filters and where can I get them when i first got the bike. There response back then was they were waiting on the parts container to arrive. Well I got a surprise package from American Lifan on Monday. A couple of oil filters and an air pump.

Pretty much just curiosity, and so we hopefully have a source for front sprockets, since they do wear out, if for some reason the 13s are out of stock. Plus, changing out a front for one tooth more should not require altering or changing the chain. Worst case scenario is I'm out a few bucks.

Jerry, what is the part # on the oil filter? Curious if it matches up with a K&N 112 or 113, for example. Looking to buy a Chinese-made 10-pack or 4-pack on Amazon, but want to buy with some info, not just blindly hoping it will work. Also height and diameter, and center hole diameter so I can go look at some in auto parts stores for comparison.

Also, how can we order oil and air filters direct from American Lifan?

The Lifan part # is 172FMME03-07. I'm pretty sure it's the K&N 112. The same filter is used on the Kpr and KPM 200.

I just physically measured the oil filter. It's the exact same as the hf112 and k&n 112.

Any luck on the sprocket? Let us know.. looking to add it to kpx250.com for all the highway ironbutt guys.

It just came in yesterday! Might try fitting it later this afternoon, but definitely tomorrow. I will report on this in my thread.

Edit: Naturally, we have a good all-day rain going on right now.....

Keep it up there for a while. It finally stopped raining for a few days so I'm getting my bike riding fix. Crazy thing yesterday. Not a cloud in the sky all day. On my way home just a few blocks from the house, The only rain cloud in South Louisiana fell on me. Got soaked and stopped raining as soon as i drove in the driveway.
