Today's purchasing adventure involved about $100 worth of plumbing parts...

Apparently we needed an indoor swimming pool in the new house, and the dried, cracked, and non-existent tub and shower seals were happy to oblige...

Ok....just one more item. A manual cam chain tensioner for the DRZ.
That's it! Promise!

Well that is an exception. You had to have it. That sounded good in my head anyway.

The manual cam chain tensioners are great, but you really have to stay on top of them. I considered getting a manual tensioner for my DR650, but decided to pass on it since the design is so simple. It's literally a spring inside a tube that pushes against a roller. The one thing I would like to get for the DR is an oil cooler bypass kit, in case I ever pick up a rock or otherwise smash the oil cooler and develop a leak.

I went out and bought a small fridge for the bar area, and here's a picture of the indoor pool filling point... From the looks of the walls and wood, and the fact that someone has been in there to do some plumbing work with CPVC, this has been an ongoing issue for quite some time.

Well, the water-related hits just keep coming... Woke up this morning to not one but TWO leaking water heaters in the new house, so I got to buy two new water heaters, and all the trimmings... This type of "new house adventure" is getting very old, very quick.

Isn't the seller liable to compensate anything? Since those faults had to be there before making the deal regardless if they knew or not.

Not really. The house was purchased "as-is", and so they really don't have any liability. I could try to make a case, but it would cost me more in attorney's fees than the repair, and it's just not worth being "that guy" who tries to make trouble when something on a deal isn't all sunshine and rainbows. I knew the house was old and in need of maintenance when we bought it, I just didn't expect to be doing all this work so soon.

I started paperwork on my next car yesterday... depending on what financing will be it will be either a blue 2012 or silver2011 forester, gottq find out what payments will be... hoping i can get the nicer one....which is the 12 with 25k less miles on it... plus it has the premium black cloth interior, vs the light gray, so black is preferred by my greasy mechanic self...LOL

A washing machine valve because Emerikol had water leakage problems. And because I live in the sticks, it took a long time get the right 5h!t to fix it. On the other hand, where the hell have SharkBite valves been all my life.
