Here's a comparison of some offroad specs for the RX3. There's obviously a lot more to say about offroad performance than this (like damping rates, shock features, durability, quality, frame and fork stiffness etc), but it's still interesting.

I listed popular dual sport and adventure bikes under 450 lbs, plus the EU spec XT660Z Ténéré just for fun. The RX3 again holds its own with good specs, as well as being the 2nd lightest and the least expensive bike in this list.

The RX3's optional 19" front wheel and knobbies would increase its ground clearance by another .5" to 1" depending on selected tire and tread, but the same is true of any bike, so I only used stock specs. I couldn't find official ground clearance specs for 2 of the bikes so I took the best estimate from different forums.

The table abbreviations are: Curb Weight, Engine size, Ground Clearance (in), Front Wheel (in), Rear Wheel (in), Front Travel (in), Rear Travel (in) and MSRP. The table is sorted by ground clearance, then front travel.

Thanks for posting the information and pics on Alaska. I'll be riding up there in June with a group of friends on our Spyders and although we won't make the islands, I'm sure the scenery will be every bit as impressive.

Thanks spud. I used Google Docs to collect the data (Excel would have worked fine). Then I copied the data into Notepad to separate the columns with tab spacing.

Then I pasted the whole thing into my post inside the 'code' tags (that's the hashtag, 3rd from the right in the formatting tools). It took a few tries with 'preview' to get the spacing right before I submitted.

Victoria, BC (on Vancouver Island) happens to be south of the 49th parallel. There are a few points in Canada that are below the 49th, and one of them (in Ontario) is even south of Oregon.
