Most of the time, yes I squeeze the clutch lever, just to be safe.

Both of my bikes have very high compression so yeah they do kick over really hard. You might want to take the electric start off and hook it up to a battery charger a few short shots and see if it engages properly that will tell you if it is the starter, or possibly may be a wiring issue, then break out the volt meter if that's the case. Good luck

Mine was set with a safety switch that would only allow starting
wile clutch is engaged.Wile messing with my wiring some how
I switched it to my brake lever......if it aint your wiring it would
be the starter. If it is making noise while trying to start it,but
sounds like poop......the starter claw isn't engaged properly.

Did the battery thing and checked the wiring, all ok there.
Come to find out it is a bad starter solenoid.

Forklift
thanks for the input, if it still doesn't start I will check that next.

Hey Forklift I'm about to play with upgrading my jack shaft sprockets any idea what size it is 17/14mm or 20/17mm shaft hole and what # chain 420 or 428, 520. Man, am I confused with this stuff. You said you had to mod it that's fine with me, I'm going to get more speed, I'll try anything. Any help would be great!!

If their is nothing wrong with the jackshaft then don't mess with it....
I changed my drive and jackshaft sprockets to 17 tooth...I lost
about 5 mph. But when I am at WOT in 4th it don't "whine" out at 8000.
I believe we are not going to get much more out of these things
with out some internal work....or a bigger engine. Both I am looking
into for cost and durability.I know you didn't want to hear that but
its only a 200cc. But if I remember 17/14 was it.I posted
my up grades on that subject early on Ill go back asap and get
the info. One might be able to eak out a little more by just getting
a smaller rear sprocket.
ps I belive 428 chain.

Sweet I'm going to try the outer jack shaft sprocket only. I'm going to play with 16 tooth and 17 tooth. When I'm in 5th gear there seems to still be plenty of power for one or two teeth. Thanks for the info I love these things!!

Save Your Money

I have purchased two 3/4 choppers. The first one broke down a lot, but lasted 2 years. I just bought my second one from Sunny Sports, Inc.

Within 4 months, or 400 miles, it has blown a gasket, the sprocket bearing practically melted and is useless. Both chains have fallen off. The front headlight never worked and the foot brake stuck, making it impossible to push in neutral.

These bikes are strictly for show and should never be ridden on the streets. They are extremely dangerous, not only to oneself, but others as well.

They should be outlawed until they get it right.

Hey Otto welcome. The tank can be sealed or if you want to get a new one here is the link I think all they have is black but that's a pretty good start. http://www.iscooterparts.com/store/p...-Tank-BLK.html
If I were you I would keep a full tank all the time because it will slow down the rust growth, Especially when storing it so there is no condensation in it (water) makes rust. As far as breaking them in I haven't heard of running them at half choke, just don't run it WOT. I'd wait until about 100mi or so, then take it WOT for a sec then back off. Ease in to it. I would shut the choke off and run it that way. You may get a little more top end but not much. That popping you hear is just normal, enjoy it, it sounds BAD AZZ. He He people will be looking if they already aren't!! Oh and as for lordueno37 if you fix your bike correctly you won't have any problems!!

Their is a 3 step process that cleans out the rust and "etches" the inside.
Evaporates the water that you rinse in step one. And the 3rd coats the
tank.It recommends a compressor or something to pass air through it.
It will definitely help the process along...You dont need a new tank
Take the choke off after starting.....
I put the choke on and adjust the carb a turn or two for it to warm up
after 5 or so min. of running I turn it down.

thanks for the tips guys .. .. if my tank still looks worth saving at the end of the summer then i guess ill just stick with it and do that 3 step thingy .. as for the choke .. i have no problems getting it started or adjusting the carb to warm her up ..so i tried it with *no choke * .. and it bogged down when i hit the gas .. unless i eaaaaaaaase into it really soft ... and thats when shes all warmed up .. but that middle position seems to run decent .. feels like it should have a lil more top end tho
-im not sure what im getting out of it yet .. i know the speedo sucks

Sounds like the carb might be out of adjustment.
